The Vinyl Visions sponsored Tobias Slingshot 20 lap feature was a barn burner as Travis Gruber led the opening lap before giving way to Jan Acker on lap three. Acker in his first season as a regular at the Linda's Speedway has had many great runs in 2008 but has yet to find his way to victory lane. Shannon Smith moved into second on lap nine and very quickly was on the back bumper of the Acker #20. Acker and Smith raced hard for the top spot but still gave each other plenty of racing room and on lap 15 Smith made a move to put her #23 out front. Acker tried to retake the top spot but fell short and had to settle for second as Shannon Smith picked up her second win of the season. Amazingly Smith was the first female driver to win in the Slingshots and she did that on September 5. The Slingshots next race was September 19 and Natasha Yiengst won that event and tonight it is Shannon Smith back in victory lane making it three wins in a row for the lady drivers. Finishing behind Smith and Acker were Travis Gruber, Chuck Whary and Nate Christman. 6-10 were Pete Knappenberger, Kyle Hieber, Paul Lotier Jr, Mike Glass and Jordan Henn. 21 cars took part with heat race wins going to Mike Glass, Travis Gruber and Jan Acker
