I had a great year in 2007 showing Ellie (Jamiru Belle) but this year will be more 'restful'! Maddie McAvaney moved up to Perth to pursue her ballet and Ellie is in foal for a baby to Figi later this year. I have 4 foals due 2008, so that will keep me busy. Meanwhile we are weaning the 2 foals from 2007, Jamiru Panache and Jamiru Cinnamon. We will start halter training today with Cinnamon. Panache is an old hand as I was preparing her for the Welsh Youngstock Show. I'm afraid we didn't get there as she decided to have a fight with a fence the week before!! She is fine but needed to rest for a week or so. That's horses for you!

We have just returned from the Perth Royal Show where our pony Jamiru Belle received a 4th in Show Hunter under 12hh, 4th in Medium weight pony under 12.2hh and 2nd in Pony under 12.2hh. She coped with the atmosphere very well and was beautifully ridden by Madeline MacAvaney. We have had a successful and fun year with Ellie and will now put her in foal to Figaro.

What a long time I have taken to update things, sorry! I am working fulltime and find that most of my time is taken up either at work, with the ponies or asleep!
We have been showing Nindalyp Elffyn (EFA registered as Jamiru Belle) under saddle in the open pony ring this year. Chantelle McCay and Matilda Gibbs are sharing the ride and the success! Ellie is going beautifully and has qualifed for the Royal in 3 shows. She is the quietest, safest, beautiful moving pony. We will probably concentrate on Show Hunter classes as she has a lovely gallop and fantastic manners. Watch out for her in the ring. I will put some pics on soon.
Jamiru Sophie has been sold to a super home with Chantelle O'Day in Nannup. Chantelle has a life time experience with welsh ponies and will show Sophie in breed classes until she is old enough to go under saddle for her gorgeous little boy Dylan. Sophie will excell as Dylans pony as she is so quiet and loving, Dylan has already sat on her!
Jamiru Daydream has gone to a lovely home near Margaret River. Serena reports that the neighbouring children just love her and she is lapping up all the attention!
I have recently been updated with the news that Jamiru Polly Pocket and Jamiru Pepper have both been broken in and are both wonderfully quiet and well loved ponies.

Good news! Pennie appears to be sound again, wow, 10 months has gone so slowly! Reuben is riding her again, just lightly to see how she goes, so far, so good! Twiggy is home because she is pregnant! She is due in the beginning of Dec. Ellie is home on spell before going back into work to be a show pony in 2007. Dreamie & Sophie are being stable and rugged in preparation for the Welsh Show in December in Perth, it's Dreamies futurity year. So things are quite busy at the moment, what with breeding season as well.
Delys Watt's mare Sandel Patrice (full sister to our Pennie) foaled a stunning bay filly to Figaro last Friday. The filly will be named Sandel Figurine.

Michelle Webster's mare Drumclyer Columbine foaled a stunning colt by Figaro about 4 weeks ago. He truly is gorgeous and full of character. His name is Calowera Wizard.

Well, no shows since the youngstock, all the ponies are turned out and hairy as! The only 2 that have been busy are Glengwin Sprig (Twiggy) and Nindylup Elffyn (Ellie).
Twiggy has been getting regular work with a friends daughter down the road. She took her to an unofficial gymkhana where she behaved very well and won lots of ribbons. Twiggy will now go on trial with a little girl in Donnybrook for a couple of weeks to see if they get on well enough for them to lease her for 12 months.
We have finished breaking in Ellie and she is with another girl getting "kid proofed"! Young Emma Clarke who lives virtually next door to me is taking her out into the bush, through water and generally doing what kids love to do! Ellie is handling everything wonderfully and we hope she will be suitable for Reuben to ride by the end of the year. Reubens' pony Sandel Pennie (Pennie) is still not sound after suffering a torn hamstring in January. We hope she will come good but it is taking such a long time that we will probably put her in foal this year.
March 26th
Today we competed at the Welsh Youngstock Show at the beautiful Gosnells Pony Club grounds. Jamiru Sophie handled the whole 4 hour float ride and show atmosphere like a seasoned campaigner! Couldn't fault her and she won her foal class as well! Jamiru Dreamtime was also impeccable behaved all weekend and placed 3rd in her yearling class. I am very proud of both ponies and of Julie, who showed them so very well. I am now going to turn the ponies out to grow through the winter and probably start showing in hand again around Sept/Oct.
March 19th
Today we took Dreamie to the Bunbury Breed Show where she was again successful, winning best presented welsh, filly 3 years and under and then went champion welsh mare/filly. Julie again showed her beautifully and we are looking forward to taking her and Sophie to the Welsh Youngstock show next weekend in Perth.
November 26th
We took Dreamie to her 2nd show, Bridgetown Ag Show. She was very relaxed and coped well with the preparation and the day, I am very proud of her. Julie showed her again for me for a 1st and Champion.

On the 2nd November 2006, I took Jamiru Dreamtime (Dreamie) to her 1st show, the Upper Blackwood Ag Show. Julie Clarke showed her for me and she achieved 2 first places. Even more pleasing was the fact she handled the day so well, from floating through to being tied up all day.
