Who says that dreams don't come true? After a number of key fan campaigns, Newmarket Films will be re-releasing DONNIE DARKO - not exactly the same film - this director's cut of DONNIE DARKO will have 20 additional minutes, enhanced SPFX and music. The new footage will be beyond the deleted scenes on the DVD. Premieres next month at the Seattle Film Festival on May 29th with plans to open gradually around the U.S.! Stay tuned!

JAN 13 - BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN w/ HEATH LEDGER?
Jake is in negotiations to co-star with Heath Ledger (THE PATRIOT, KNIGHT'S TALE) in Ang Lee's upcoming project, BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN. The story revolves around two men who meet one summer in Wyoming and form a bond and love that spans 20 years. The film tracks that time period and their evolving relationship. Lee most recently directed THE HULK and was nominated for a Oscar for CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON, and numerous other awards for SENSE AND SENSIBILITY.

Jake is currently filming PROOF, a drama that stars Gwyneth Paltrow and Anthony Hopkins. Based on the play by David Auburn. Directed by Oscar-winner John Madden (SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE), PROOF will be distributed by Miramax. Release date yet to be announced.
JULY 17 - LORD OF THE RINGS?
A number of newspapers have been reporting that Jake and his girlfriend, Kirsten Dunst, plan to get married by the end of the year. The reports are based on rings that he wears. Well, put to put those rumors to rest, Jake explains that he and Kirsten wear a number of rings but none of them are engagement rings. So no need to go shopping for wedding gifts!

EW noted that DONNIE DARKO is a little 'new' to be a cult, but the midnight screenings and the flood of letters don't lie!
