The Works Of Jaime Winters

Writing

At age two Jaime Winters (formally known as Jaime Dunkle) learned to read and write. By eight years old she was writing nearly everyday. Originally her passion was writing scary short stories in the Fall for school. When she was just ten years old she daydreamed of entering the entertainment industry as a screenwriter, filmmaker and actor. In her early teens she pursued writing poetry, stream of consciousness and automatic material. She quit this method after being disillusioned by the realization that, in her opinion, only French poets of the late 1800s were worthwhile. Likewise, only William S. Burroughs, Brion Gysin, Austin Osman Spare and Genesis P.Orridge could successfully utilize stream of consciousness and automatic writing. Everyone else was kidding themselves with hyperpersonal jargon and nonsensical analogies. Fascinated by obscure topics, she began to write research articles on subjects such as the Skull And Bones Secret Society and the Socialist Patients Kollective. However, she may be best known for her interviews and reviews.  In the last two years her articles, interviews, reviews and editorials have been published in national magazines and online. Currently she is writing a fiction book based on non-fiction allegations with the promise of turing it into a screenplay.

Acting

In 1999, at age eighteen, Jaime volunteered to do performance art for the first time with her friends in the legendary Portland (OR) experimental band A Nat Hema. They performed at the Dada Ball using books about the Spanish inquisition, a plastic skull with electronic candles, My Little Pony dolls, knitting needles and large sheets. The audience was both intrigued and confused. For the next couple of years Jaime did performance art for bands such as Smegma, Freq Transmission and Cradle Of Filth. She also performed once with the Portland (OR) troupe Wake World. She was kidnapped then brought on stage to have her eyes, tongue and heart removed. It was so convincing audience members left vomiting. During the same period of her life she acted in, directed and wrote several plays. During the year of 2006 she has pursued acting in film. So far Jaime Winters has been in a feature, a short and a music video. In December she is going to Arizona for her first lead role!

Music

Jaime went to Indianapolis for the summer when she was fifteen. While in Indie she recorded her first vocal tracks with a friend. It was also her first time playing keyboards as well as experimenting with unconventional percussion such as sheet metal and broken glass. This lead to her continued exploration in creating various types of electronic music. As a teen she dabbled in techno-grind, power electronics and industrial noise. These days she is building a recording studio at home focusing on her debut hip-hop album, electronic pop music and soundscapes for soundtracks.
