The Arizona Jaguar, a jaguar that once thrived in the state of Arizona, was last seen in 1905, by the hunter whom killed it. Humans had deprived it of it's habitat, and often shot them, to protect their livestock. The carelessness of humans killed the species,or so we thought. Since 1905, hundreds of sightings have been reported, even photographs from motion sensing cameras, set along game trails. Even a video, of a jaguar in a tree, taken by hunters, who did not kill it. A few were caught, in large, humane traps. After a clean bill of health, the animals were sent to a remote island, of the coast of the Untied States. They were set loose, free to reproduce, in an effort to save their kind. The effort worked, the leopards bred, and the population grew. After five years, some were taken back to Arizona, as well as new leopards, so that inbreeding did not occur. Today, they are struggling to survive, though they are becoming stronger.
