Jaguars Links

There are three primary sources for Jaguars information...

  1. The Jaguars Official Website
  2. The Times-Union Ultimate Jaguars Website
  3. JagNation

All three sites have their own message board. The official website has articles and editorials written by the one and only Vic Ketchman. I read everything he writes. The site also features official mutimedia that's often worth checking out. In addition to capturing interviews of players and coaches, they'll air video of team media members discussing upcoming games and more. They also archive the local radio shows affiliated with the site.

The Ultimate Jaguars site primarily includes articles from the Times-Union, the major local newspaper in Jacksonville. It's also a great resource for archived news articles and for pictures of the team. Finally, JagNation is an impressive site began by fans that's chaulked full of team information. They even have stuff like podcasts with local players along with their own Jaguars chatroom.

There's also the radio station that announces Jaguars games...

WOKV is the place to go for live streaming before and after games, and for live streaming of radio shows during the week. If you miss a live show it'll be archived on the Jaguars official site the following day.

Other useful Jaguars fan sites include...

  • Big Cat Country - A Jaguars blog updated often by River City Rage.
  • Jaguars Journal - Up-to-date and informative articles written both by FBT (Tim McClellan) and others. Tim is a passionate Jaguars fan who knows what he's talking about.
  • JagsZone - Great chatroom to go to during games or the draft. The site also features articles from the Vince Hale and other members, and it also has its own Jaguars message board.
  • The Unofficial Jaguars Web Page - Dav's website is packed full of links to numerous fan sites. There are links to fan clubs of particular players, and even links to some of the players personal websites. My cap information has been stored here for the past couple years as well, and he's even archived my cap data and roster information from 2005 and 2006. I don't even have that info on my computer. His site also includes a ton of pictures primarily of players taken by fans at practices and games.
  • Jaguars Gab - Blog is updated daily and will occasionally feature a podcast interview with a Jaguars player. Its parent site, NFL Gridiron Gab, has similar sites for every team in the league.

NFL Links

There are quite a few nfl sites that I often visit as a football fan. I'll share those sites with you...

All football fans often visit nfl.com, and I"m no exception. In particular I'm constantly vising their Players, Scores (including Game Day Live) and Schedules sections, and now they have a Videos section.

There are also official sites for the Hall of Fame and the Super Bowl in case you have any questions relating to either.

Players Inc is the players official website. Each player is allowed his own section at the site, and several choose to utilize it. Often you'll discover personal information about players that you'd otherwise never know.

There's also an official site for the NFL Players Association. Here you'll find the wording to the CBA along with articles relating to the players and the salary cap. There's even an Active Players Search where you can find the base salary for any player. Often cap related questions can be answered here. If it's a general question about the cap you can probably find the answer at Ask the Commish. If you look there and  you're still drawing a blank, just ask me.

Questions regarding what stadium a team plays at or how new a stadium is can be answered at Stadiums of the NFL.

Questions regarding who was drafted in what round and by what team, etc, can easily be answered at Draft History. If you're question is pertains to a potential trade idea, be sure to consult a Draft Pick Value Chart.

For a quick look at league wide transactions go to ESPN's transactions page. For a more thorough look, go to Pro Football Weekly's transactions page.

I've found the CNN/SI's stats to be the best stats page, although if you're trying to find more obscure stats you might try FOX Sports stats or else Snap Stats.

USA Today has an interesting page that ranks teams overall based on a number of statistical principles is the Sagarin Rankings. I also visit USA Today for their NFL Salary Database detailing the cap hits for players in past seasons, and their Live Odds.

If you're watching a game and want to figure out what a QB's current rating is, just plug his stats into the Quarterback Rating Calculator.

If you're having trouble finding stats on former offensive players, just go to the Players Football Reference Blog.

Finally, The Football Database is a good all-around football resource, and a great place for recent news.

NFL Forums

There are a few major NFL forums that you might want to check out. I'll list them in order of which site I prefer the most...

  1. The Football Palace - As a Jaguars fan this is a fun place to converse with rivals as their AFC South Forum is the bigger division boards on their site. There's even a Political and Religious Subforum on their Sideline, and I hear they plan to have podcasts discussing the NFL. Plus check out their "Arcade" section for some great games.
  2. The Gridiron Lounge - This is a great place for talking smack with other NFL fans, and especially NFC West fans. I love the ticker that scrolls atop their board.
  3. Football's Future Forum Index - A huge NFL board with individual team boards including their Jaguars Forum.
  4. The Football Guy's Shark Pool - The busiest fantasy football message board on the web.
  5. The KFFL Community - A fantasy football hotspot. Several of their team boards are very active.

Sites reflecting the birth pangs (Matthew 24 and Luke 21) and/or the sign of the times:

  • Global Incident Map - A global display of terrorism and other suspicious events
  • The REAL News - links to major news article that is normally ignored by mainstream media news. (new site)
  • The Seismic Monitor - Check on earthquakes at least 4.0 and above around the world.
  • SOHO - keeping an eye on the sun's activities. (e.g. solar flares, sunspots, etc)
  • Mount St. Helens Eruption Watch - since I live in a place surrounded by volcanoes, I like to keep my eyes on the most active one in my area.

When it comes to music, Christian Rock may be the best music out there today. The lyrics are so much better, but even the music itself is better than most of the stuff you hear on the radio today. Let's face it, rock music overall has seriously declined over the past decade, but Christian rock continues to reach new heights.

One stations refers to itself as the "positive alternative," and over the past few years it's become the only station I tune into when I turn on the radio. The station is Air 1, and wherever you live (especially if it's in the U.S.), you should be able to find out what number to tune to with their Station List. Or you can listen to their station over the web.
