I first came across The Tellington Touch when I saw a programme on ITV called 'Talking To Animals' The programme was fronted by Sarah Fisher, who is the uk's highest qualified Tellington Touch practitioner. Sarah was also an old friend who I'd not seen for many years as we had once worked together at the National Theatre.
I got in touch with Sarah, and booked on to a two day workshop that she was teaching at Tilley Farm. It was a wonderful weekend meeting up with Sarah again after all those years, and the work just blew me away.

TTouch taught us to look beneath the actual behaviours that an animal was exhibiting, not to make judgements, and to give the animals every chance to choose a different way to be.
It was on the two day workshop that I booked on to the Practitioner Training Clinic. I needed to learn more!
On the Practitioner Trainings, we were taught to recognise areas of tension within an animals body, we do this through a mixture of flat hand exploration, and observations. The tension patterns can then be released with specific hands on TTouches, lifts and slides, which release the tension, improve circulation and promote a greater sense of well-being. We were also taught to use groundwork exercises where appropriate © Photograph by kind permission of Rachael Bunn
Ground exercises enable the dog to over -ride old patterns of movement and behaviour without the use of fear or force. The ground work improves co-ordination, co-operation, confidence, focus and self-control.
Always with TTouch, we break down the work into small stages, so that the animal that we're working with has time to assimilate the information before moving on.
After three years of training, I now work on a one to one basis with clients and their animals. Give talks about The Tellington Touch and teach one day workshops.
