The patch on the left is our newest patch which was designed by one of our members, Glenn Daniels II, for our 125th anniversary in 2004. The patch on the right is from the York Township Department of Fire & Resuce Services. This patch is a display of all the Fire Departments who serve York Township on a first due basis.

Welcome to the official web-site of the Goodwill Fire Co. #1 of Jacobus, PA. We are happy that you stopped by to visit us and we would like to ask that you take a moment and reflect on all of the firefighters, paramedics, emt's and police officers who loose their lives everyday in the line of duty to help others in their time of need. Our department is made up of approximately 30 active members and well over a 100 social members. Our department, just like many others, is completely volunteer and we run a variety of calls ranging from automatic alarms to smoke investigations to structure fires to QRS / medical assist calls. Our primary response area consists of Jacobus Boro, Springfield Twp and York Twp. Again, thank you for visiting our site and please fell free to contact us if you have any questions or suggestions and please sign our guest book before leaving.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, you can contact our station, send us an email or go to the on-line interest application page and submit your imformation and someone will contact you. To become a volunteer, you do not need to respond on calls, you can help with fundraisers or administrative duties if you like. No matter what you would like to do as a volunteer, we will supply you with the training that you need to perform that duty and we will pay for the training if there is a cost. There are a lot of things that happen behind the scenes of a fire department that most people do not know about. Please give it some thought. We don't ask you to commit all of your time but any time that you have would be greatly appreciated. Remember, "Protect Your Future...Volunteer". Is there a fire hydrant in front of your home? As we get into the winter months, you can help by adopting a fire hydrant. Doing so will help Firefighters protect your home and your neighbor's homes as well. Keeping snow and ice shoveled away from the hydrant allows Firefighters to find them quickly and saves on valuable time by having them accessible for use. Won't you lend a hand in helping to make your neighborhood safer?
