Jessie Lamont is a 50 year old recently widowed woman who attends a local psychic fair and is given a cryptic message by a gypsy about her past and future. Going back to her old apartment she once shared with her first husband she finds a photograph of a 1890s Victorian woman who greatly resembles her. She takes the photograph home and when she studies the photo she is suddenly transported back to the 1890s. She finds that she is able to return to the present when she looks into the mirror on her 1890s dresser. Jessie’s life is turned upside down by trying to live two lives, discovering heartbreaking secrets and disturbing lies. This is a story of a woman finding out who she is, whom she loves and how she is connected to both eras and both times.
