Article 1. Litters produced of dogs registered, certified and approved by the
IWBC are to be issued an IWBC /URC Pedigree
Proof must be presented of Registration of Parents, presented Litter, and be
found excellent/very good/good examples of the breed by Certified
Veterinarian and/or Judge in accordance with IWBC regulations and rules.
Each pup has to be tattooed (inner thigh) and micro chipped.
Article 2.
a. Offspring born with genetic defects are not to be issued,
Neither registration nor a Full registration of any Registry the IWBC
recognizes.
Dogs producing mild to non-life threatening genetic defects
can only be bred again in a separate breed trial.
(Female with male out of different line, as male with female out of
different line) to determine if the defect is produced by certain single animals
or lines. Dogs found to produce the defect will be excluded from
the Stud book record of the IWBC
b. Dogs producing any moderate and/or life threatening defects, and/or defects
leading to a life of Misery and Pain are to be excluded from the studbook
Record listed in the IWBC.
c. Offspring afflicted with genetic faults are not to be fully registered in the
IWBC /URC Studbook of Records.
d. Mild genetic defects listed as of January 01.2006
Deafness
Spondilosis - mild.
Mild Hip Dysplasia (not more then C or Fair according to OFA)
Dogs cannot be crossed if both carry the result of C or Fair.
“C” or “Fair” dogs may be bred to an A / B or Excellent.
Offspring out of that cross needs to be tested before full registration will be
issued by the IWBC
d. Moderate genetic defects listed as of January 01.2006
Moderate Hip Dysplasia worse then “C” or “Fair”
Heart Disease
Thyroid Disease
Cancer of any kind (no exceptions granted)
Article 3
Only dogs found to be “excellent, very good” and “good” are to be
Considered in the Breeding Program. This will be determined by a Certified
Veterinarian, Confirmation, or Working Group Judge. Only healthy and
headstrong, not timid or overly aggressive dogs are to be used in the IWBC
Breed program.
a. The Breeder must guarantee dogs and its offspring are kept in accordance with the for the country addressing Animal Association Laws.
b. Males which are used as stud dogs must be a minimum of 18 months of age. Dogs must be health tested prior to breeding and approved by IWBC rules and regulation.
c. Females which are to be used in the Breeding Program must be a minimum of 18 months of age.. Dogs must be health tested prior to breeding and approved by IWBC rules and regulations
d. Females are not to be used in the Breeding Programs after the age of 8 years.
Exception may be reconsidered by the President of the IWBC.
e. Documentation of the following health tests are to be presented with registration request:
Heart EKG
Thyroid / Blood test
Hip Dysplasia X-Ray
Elbow X-Ray
AKC DNA sample Number
A result of light Hip Dysplasia, the litter will be issued registration.
A litter free or not rated higher then “C” or “Fair” the females shall receive a
Full registration while the male offspring will have a limited registration.
Dogs with heavy hip displesia are not to be bred. (“C”, “or “Poor”
rating)
Deafness- As of August 27, 2005 is to be determined by specialized Canine-
Trainer, and/or Certified. Veterinarian. Must be Documented and stated in
writing.
DNA-Each IWBC registered breeding Dog must be DNA’d. Kits can be
ordered through the American Kennel Club.
f. A female shall not be bred more then 3 times in a time span of 2 years.
Meaning: That if bred on two consecutive heat cycles, the third heat cycle the female shall not be bred giving her one year of rest.
g. To register a litter the following documentation is to be presented:
Breeding Certificate signed by the stud dog owner.
Litter registration.
Copy of the Dams Pedigree
Copy of the Sires Pedigree
Any false statement will result in fine and removal from the IWBC.
h. No animal is to be euthanized other then for health reasons certified by a
Licensed Veterinarian.
Offspring with morphologic defects are to be humanely
euthanized by a Certified Veterinarian not later then the 11th day after birth.
Documentation must be presented to the IWBC.
j. The litter must be examined by a Licensed Veterinarian or Breed Ward within one week of whelping and again no later then 8 weeks. The Litter Registration must be signed by a Licensed Veterinarian.
k. No puppy will be sold without a Health Certificate,
to be provided by a Licensed Veterinarian.
l. A Breeder must apply for a Kennel License and Kennel Name prior breeding the first litter.
The breeder must present 3 kennel names of choice at the time of application.
The names must appear in order of preference. If the first name has already
been used by another Kennel the second name will be applied. If it is found
that the second name is also used by another Kennel then the third name will
be applied.
m. Breeder is always the owner of the female.
n. Registering a litter after 5 months of age will result in higher registration
Fees.
There will be a fee to replace lost Pedigrees.
o. Acting against the Rules and Regulations and/or false statements on documentation presented to the IWBC will result in membership termination and fines.
p. The Breed Ward and/or Certified Veterinarian may be granted a visit to the Kennel Facilities upon their request.
Breed Ward and/or Veterinarian will schedule an appointment with the Breeder before the visit is granted.
Both shall have the function of advisors and work in the best interest of the
Animals.
q. Breeding under IWBC Registration is a privilege not a given right.
a. Any litter produced under the IWBC Laws and Regulations will be fully
protected.
No Dogs and/or offspring produced by dogs registered with the IWBC are to
be knowingly placed in Shelters, Rescues, Laboratories, and/or facilities of
that nature.
b. Breeders who breed by the IWBC Regulations are to be protected by IWBC
Members.
c. Breeders are responsible for offspring produced under its Kennel name.
Breeders who produced a litter and are unable to keep and/or care for the
Litter will be assisted by the IWBC club members. The litter may be moved
from that kennel facility if necessary until permanent homes can be found.
A detailed explanation by breeder of the situation has to be given to the
Board.
The Second consecutive time a breeder is found in the position of not being
able to place or care for its offspring, the breeder will be required to deliver a
Detailed explanation to the IWBC Board/ President before assistance can be
given.
The Third consecutive time a Breeder under IWBC is found in this same
Situation and is not able to place or keep its offspring, the IWBC will revoke
the Kennel License, and all Rights given to this Breeder.
