I.T.L.D is a tertiary educational institution accredited by the University Council of Jamaica, a member of the Tertiary Educational Council of the Cayman Islands and an integral part of the International University of the Caribbean (I.U.C). I.T.L.D is the vision and initiative of the United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. It is a context based distance education program with an emphasis on the Action-Reflection Model of Learning.
These courses are designed to equip, with adequate skills, all care-givers who offer their service and welfare to the community through governmental and non–governmental agencies. Nurses, Police Officers, Prison Officers, Rehabilitation personnel, Teachers, Family Counselors, Lay Pastors and Full-time Ministers in the church and the community are taking advantage of this excellent training opportunity.
I.T.L.D caters to mature adult students with commitment to educational advancement. One can enter I.T.L.D with what they have and accumulate credits which will lead to a Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor or Master degree. All courses are offered locally and are cost effective. One can pursue an entire course leading to certification or just audit selected subjects of interest.
