Some of my friends have been asking for some pages in English, because everything on my website has only been in Finnish so far... So, here it is! Briefly in English. :)
Please, leave your greetings and hello's to our guestbook. And some pictures of my dogs you can find from here. Nice to have you visiting our website! =)

Holiday is over. And I'm working again. We have started the summer season by taking long walks in the forests and by starting to train agility again. For the summer we have a couple of dog shows to go, but no other special plans. Hopefully we'll have some more days off later this summer to go to the summer cottage once again this summer! :) It's been quite cold here so far (yesterday it was snowing...), but I look forward to some warmer days.
A few words about our holiday. Well, we started it by spending almost a week at our summer cottage in Hirvensalmi. It was nice and warm there... Aapo made his debute at a puppy-dog show and turned out to be BIR. Mamma was very proud of him. :) Then I had a cruise from Helsinki to Stockholm with my old collegue Elina. We had a good time! Then what... Well, my old neighbour from Kellokoski, Tiina, got married. And I travelled to Bremen, Germany. Bremen was beautiful! I had time to visit my family, meet my friends and see many of our dog friends as well. And after all that, I was also really happy to get back home again. It's nice to have a holiday, but after living a month at somebody else's home, I already miss my own home a lot... Summergreetings to everybody, who read our pages in English. :)

Oops. I have forgotten to update our news in english. :)
We came to southern Finland a couple of days ago and started our summerholiday. And we most certainly do like the warm weather for a change. ;) Today we are heading to Hirvensalmi to our summer cottage and on sunday Aapo has his debute at a puppy-dog show in Hollola. Aapo's siblings are coming there, too. And we are quite excited to see them all. :) I think that I still haven't really understood that I'm having my summerholiday now. Well, it always takes it's time to realize that you don't have to go to work tomorrow... Let's just enjoy! Many greetings to all our friends, who may read our homepages in english. ;)

Aapo has grown a lot! He is a big boy already. =) He likes to eat as much food as I give to him. And we are already making quite nice walkings with him. I am looking forward to my summer holiday in May, which is really silly, because it's February... Well, can't help myself! :D Turo's next dog show is next month (22nd March) in Rovaniemi. Before that we are just enjoying the sunshine and spending as much time outdoor as possible.

We have nothing special going on right now. The days are going quite fast with a puppy in the house! :) Turo is the most lovely big brother and they are just playing all day long with Aapo. I have been going out with Turo and Aapo by turns, so that Turo wouldn't feel like abandoned. And Aapo also gets socialised better without his older brother with him all the time. =)

We took a course in agility in May 2007. And we really liked it! After that I've been training with Turo at our dogclub's agilityfield in Ivalo (30km from us). We have settled a target to take part to at least one competition in I-class with Turo. Next summer Aapo will also see the agilityfield for the first time and then we'll see, if he's going to be a agilitydog, too! ;)
Dog show's are not our "main thing". I previously thought that as long as I don't have to make my living as a model, neither does my dogs. Well, I have changed my mind a little bit... What makes our dog show-hobby difficult, is the fact that we live in Saariselkä. In northern Lapland. And it is a long way from here to travel just for one day and just for one show. It takes too much time and money... A couple of dog show's a year is enough for us. :)
I have now lived in Saariselkä for about 4 years. I was born in Merikarvia (finnish westcoast) and lived my childhood in southern Finland. After finishing my tourism studies in a vocational institute, I deciced to continue tourism studies at a university of applied sciences. I put an application to Rovaniemi and started my studies the same autumn. After 1,5 years of full-time-studying, I moved to Saariselkä after a job and I am now about to finish my studies before summer -09. Having a permanent job as a sales assistant at the same time.
I didn't know anything about schapendoes, until Turo came to the family. I previously wanted to have some small breed, like Jack Russel's or something like that, but schapendoes seemed to be after all exactly what I had been looking for by the character. When Turo turned 1 year old, I started to think about having another dog. A little brother for Turo. And so came Aapo.
I spend my free time not just with the dogs, but also making handicrafts, reading, cooking, snowshoeing etc. Here in Lapland I have the opportunities to live the way I want and walk around in the nature the way I want. At some point I know that I want to move back to Rovaniemi. When? I have no clue. Let's see, what this life has planned for me. =)
