This year (2008) we are going to be renewing the coop with dual-purpose birds. The term dual-purpose means that the chickens can be used for meat (roosters) and the hens are good layers as well. We will be raising a limited quantity of "meat" chickens. We are also adding some rare and heritage breeds.
As with the rabbits, this is a small production for family and friends , but we are open to orders and may have too many for our needs. These chickens must be wholesome, as such, we raise them on grain and free range when possible. The prices are subject to change, but 2007 prices were 3.00$/lb.
We are trying something new! We now have Jumbo Coturnix or Japanese quails and A&M White Coturnix. By March 2008, we will have eggs and meat will be available as of May 2008. As with the chickens and all other meat/food producing animals on the farm, we will not feed any medicationand they will be treated humanely and with dignity, free ranging when possible. This production is for our own use, however, should you desire quails, live, meat or eggs, please email for information.
