© Behind the Cascade of Carnations and Wildflowers (English Sonnet #1)

Behind the cascade of carnations and wildflowers,
thou hast the feelings inside that begin to burn,
a conscious desire to love you will start to churn,
to make your world ‘midst the ivory towers;

When we’re together we shall make love for hours,
and time is nigh, wouldst be easy to learn,
it’s time to make dinner I whisper; it’s your turn,
our passion entwined wouldst continue in showers;

But neither of us moves and it’s plain to see,
to thy world surround she doth everything bring,
on the loudest of speakers, I’d hear the whole world sing,
in each other’s arms we would rather be;

     Now the time is for our world to subside,
     but thee I wouldst again take as my blushing bride.

Morn’s first light my clearest thoughts
of beautiful glistening dew,
are no comparisons
‘gainst the sparkling beauty of you!

© This Thing Called Love (Alternating Quatrain)

Men feeling surrounded in life
sharing a deep desire to love,
hadn’t the time to take a wife
found they needed a little shove.

The women were found retreating
one with a forced, painted smile paused,
as her soft eyes whispered something
oh what a commotion she caused.

A journey for the misguided
scaling monuments towering above,
for all the lonely hearts tempted
the desire and promise of love.

Our hearts embrace the moments
those now pondered beyond the years,
of loneliness and repentance
grieve over the torment and fears.

For what will come of the lovelorn
who have wanted to find a friend,
feel that they have not yet outworn
and that this is not yet the end.

Now if you are a man I say
who has yet to find a lover,
come upon Sadie Hawkins day
you had better run for cover.

And if you are a woman who
has yet to find that special friend,
think about the brood he’ll give you
that, of course, YOU will have to tend.

Now the moral of this story
is that if you can‘t find a date,
but if you want to find glory
you just might have to wait.

And if it is true love you seek
it may be at your beckon call,
but you think you just want to peek
you might just take the fall.

So now true love you find at last
and now you can just settle down,
be careful and don’t move so fast
you'll have to go another round.

Dawn has come again
The Flycatcher flew today
Bye beautiful birds

© Return To Love (Spenserian Sonnet #2)

Alas, thee are in a difficult time,
for many months a tumultuous ride,
although thou art still in thy youthful prime,
to seek nobody in which to confide!

Now return to love thou say is thy aim,
and begin now anew for thine own sake,
lest have not a soul to love once again,
bury thy feelings to hide the heartache.

So gather those wonders that thee once had,
and start living thy life as yesterday,
too many things can make thee feel quite sad
and never again should thee go astray.

     Start to love thyself and return thine own,
     share with loved ones and thee surely hath grown.

The best rose
A climbing rose:
Beautiful
Petals they are.
Sweet fragrance
Draws me nearer.
Behold, it is the Don Juan!

© When We Met (A Crown of Sonnets)

A Crown of Sonnets

[First of the Corona]
When I saw you, I wondered how to meet,
And have a wonderful woman like you,
So I stepped into, your garage to greet,
As any real fine gentleman would do!

And when we met, your first thought, “not a chance”,
Of course was not a best first impression,
But then I asked you to go out and dance,
You accepted with some apprehension.

As time went on and you fell deep in love,
By now you thought it would be so sublime,
Marrying me was not what I thought of,
And for me it took a little more time.

When you asked it was Sady Hawkins day,
So one year later we were on our way!

[Second of the Corona]
So one year later we were on our way,
As time then passed we had a family,
We scurried about and on that May Day,
When we looked, our two had become a three!

We had gone through baseball, tennis and school,
And we let him make his own decisions,
Because for him there was just one real rule,
That he could not make any revisions.

During this time you were making a plan,
Now that I find out some ten years after,
I had no idea that was a big scam,
Our son did not know, so did not matter!

For him we thought this would be so darn cool,
But for me this turned out to be real cruel!

[Third of the Corona]
But for me this turned out to be real cruel,
I had not learned this from going to school,
It was not part of the very first rule,
Lucky no fire because of all the fuel.

What you had done to me was really cruel,
And it started when we were both in school;
You had not thought and made up your own rule,
Now you were ready to put match to fuel.

Breaking my heart did not seem to be cruel,
Maybe you thought you’d only take me to school;
Then you would have to teach me a new rule,
You were ready now to add some more fuel.

Start with an old love seemed to be so cruel,
End by sending me to 'FINISHING' school.

Bright morning has come
Pale dews moisture beckoning
Lush garden still thrives

© Wonders (Alternating Quatrain)

We grow up to fill the shoes
of life’s grand expectation;
But all the wonders that we lose
when we reach adult formation.

As a child we dream and play
and conjure up great delusions;
Then we’re told we might someday
add to it’s mass confusions.

When we’re young and full of life
we never stop and wonder;
How it might be in our aged strife
when our world is all asunder.

If we could keep those child like ways
and never give up on them;
And hold those visions of our younger days
our life wouldn’t be so grim.

As we grow older and reflect upon
the child we once had been;
We’ll see those roads that now are gone
and wish we could ride again.

But fate has always determined where
our paths must go and end;
If’s and’s and but’s are always there
around every curve and bend.

Then our time is up and we pass along
to all our young offspring;
Point to the things we had done all wrong
may they not do the same damn thing.

© Life is beckoning (Quintet)

Those that watch life
They must participate,
But the ones without love
Are broken and wait.
Life is beckoning!

© Alone (Etheree)

Sad,
Alone
Cannot sleep,
Often weary
You are on my mind.
Thinking of a lost love
Trying to remember when:
How long has it been since I left,
Was it last month or a year ago?
I awake to find myself next to you!

© The Ice (Triquatrain)

The ice was here, the ice was there

the ice was all around,

it was so bright, on a moonlit night

but no one could be found.

The ships main mast, seemed not to last

when the mighty ship hit the swells,

the men were brave, but the forty foot wave

had taken all her sails.

Down to bare, with no one there

except the memories of her crew,

as death just kissed, with a starboard list

this mariner’s time was due.

So the sea doth claim, another ship to mame

as she slowly slips to the floor,

now men will shout, as they sing about

how she could have made the shore.
