Rainbows

Rainbows are girls aged five to seven years old.

Itchen Valley Division now has eight thriving Rainbow units following an active programme of fun activities.

We held our first Division Rainbow "Fairy" Funday on Sunday 14th May 2006. It was a superb event where the rainbows dressed as fairys, made fairy wands, decorated fairy cakes and made lots of beautiful fairy crafts with masses of glitter and sparkle.  This was successfully followed by our 2007 Rainbow Funday with the theme the colours of the rainbow. The rainbows painted special rainbow T-towels, decorated sparkly purses, played in a ball pit and bouncy castle, visited a magical garden and lots, lots more.

The 2008 Rainbow Funday had an international theme, again with lots of crafts and fun activities including food tasting in the french themed cafe. We are looking forward to our 2009 Funday, which we know will be great fun!

A huge thank you to all the leaders involved, and a special thank you to rainbow leader Sarah Floyd who came up with the original idea and who works so hard to make the days so successful.

The Rainbow programme is called Rainbow Jigsaw and covers the following 4 areas:-

  • Rainbows Look

Helps the girls to take a look at the wider world about them.

  • Rainbows Learn

    Encourages learning through fun activites.

  • Rainbows Laugh

Teaches the girls, games, songs and how to enjoy parties and celebrations.

  • Rainbows Love

Gives Rainbows a better understanding of love and helping others.

The Rainbow Jigsaw is full of exciting and fun activities to help girls realise their full potental, as they journey through the Rainbow section.

I promise that I will do my best, to love my God and to be kind and helpful.
