The Treehouse

November 25, 2005

Welcome! Here is where I will randomly post anime, game, and occasionally movie or tv suggestions made by me or any other people who have seen or played something good. Hope you enjoy!

  • Movie Updates
  • New Music Catagory

Anime

  • Fruits Basket - This series is hilarious and action packed with fights, jokes, transforming in animals and just fun to watch. You fall in love with the characters.
  • Trigun - Another funny and action packed anime with guns, bounty hunters, destruction, and a lot of stuff. Vash The Stampede is not only good looking but hilarious.
  • Full Metal Panic - sorta like the Gundam series with military and big robots but filled with more humor and comedy. Revolves around high school drama mixed with military stuff.
  • FUMOFFU - the second series of Full Metal Panic. Deals more with the high school life and humor than military this time around.
  • Full Metal Alchemist - No this has nothing to do with the Full Metal Panic series (the mistake i made). This is completely different and deals with two boys whose mother died and there a lot of explanation so just watch the series. Lots of humor and drama.
  • Rurouni Kenshin - funny, dramatic, lots of samurai stuff. just to warn you it's a VERY long series. like 200 episodes or something so i would either watch it on tv or buy it instead of taping it.
  • Gravitation - very short but has a movie. Not recommended if you don't like yaoi or guy on guy anime (nothing full out like the manga but it's hinted.) very funny.
  • Yami no Matsuei - another anime of hinted yaoi but it's very good. funny and dramatic and cool demons.
  • Azumanga Daioh - Involves the life of school and students. Follows a main group of girls and teachers. very funny and action packed.
  • Gundam Wing - big robots, futuristic, and somewhat funny if you have the right sense of humor. military packed.
  • Outlaw Star - funny, action packed, and lots of bounty hunter stuff. characters are great.
  • Ronin Warriors - my personal favorite. very action packed and dramatic. some humor but again you have to have the right sense of humor. transforming and armor and fighting involved.

Movies

  • Fifth Element - Awesome movie altogether! Starring Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, Chris Tucker, and Gary Oldman. Every time it's on tv I have to watch it because of all the action, humor, and drama jam-packed into it. Highly Recommended.
  • To Wong Foo: Thanks For Everything - Not very popular but hilarious to boot. Story about three drag queens played by Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes, and John Leguizamo. Very funny if you have that special sense of humor.
  • Stargate - The original of the Stargate series. Starring Kurt Russell and James Spader, whose characters attempt to decode the Stargate, an ancient Egyptian artifact. This movie kinda makes you think a lot to solve everything going on. I first saw it as a little kid and even then it made me think. So being a child who suffered ADHD, any movie that can make a hyperactive child, whose out to destroy everything, sit down and watch it is a miracle worker in itself.
  • See Spot Run - Yet another comedy that deserves a standing ovasion. David Arquette has a very good part as a mailman trying to win the heart of his female neighbor through her child's affection. When she leaves to go on a business trip and the babysitter is no where to be found, the mailman gets stuck with the little boy and all hell breaks loose starting with FBI Agent 11, a dog...
  • How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days - Starring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughy, a romantic comedy that will keep your mind reeling. Personally I enjoy any movie with Matthew McConaughy but I really liked this one because of the part he played. Kate hudson also has a very good part in this movie.
  • Little Monsters - Probably one of the cutest movies I've ever seen. This movie takes you into the world under the bed and inside your closet where the monsters live. You'll absolutely love how they portray the monsters in this movie.
  • Benny & Joon - One of Johnny Depp's best role in my opinion. Aiden Quinn and Mary Stuart Masterson play the part of brother and sister. When the mentally ill woman loses at a hand of poker, she ends up with a young man named Sam (Johnny Depp).
  • Ghost Ship - A very cool thriller movie with A LOT of plot points. If you miss one thing you end up completely lost. Julianna Margulies plays a very well played character and reacts almost perfectly to everything going on.
  • The Time Machine - Guy Pearce plays a scientist who tries to find a way to prevent the death of a loved one by building a time machine. Very well thought out in cast and set. Orlando Jones plays a cool character in this movie as well.
  • Peter Pan - Jason Issacs, Jeremy Sumpter, and Rachel Hurd-Wood play their parts in this 2004 version of one of the best child hood stories. Very action packed and based more on the book than the cartoons.
  • Legend - Tom Cruise and Mia Sara play the fairy tale characters in this awesome classic filed with fairies, pixies, unicorns, and a hero! With Tim Curry as the evil King of Darkness, who could go wrong with this selection.
  • Garden State - A very good movie about a young man who returns to his hometown when his mom dies. Reveals his past as he spends days with his old friends and meets a new girl. Starring Zach Braff and Natalie Portman.
  • Vanity Fair - A story of a young woman who grows up in a poor environment then becomes a governess when her father, an artist, dies. Shows the changes over the years of troublesome times with her friends and family. Starring Reese Witherspoon, Romola Garai, Bob Hoskins, Rhys Ifans, James Purefoy, and Johnathan Rhys Meyers.

Music

  • The Rasmus - An awesome band that mixes Pop, Rock, Gothic, and occasionally throws in something crazy.
  • Queen - Only the most AWESOME BAND EVER!!!!!!! very highly recommended for those who like oldies and rock.
  • Morgan - A local Michigan band that will rock your socks off with their emo rock, screaming, headbanding, and they're hot drummer David.
  • Aerosmith - Yet another oldies band that is very highly recommended (you'll see a lot of oldies on here). Still awesome enough to be playing shows and making music to this very day.
  • Alanis Morissette - A cool female artist amongst the very few. She signs about topics that a lot of people can relate to.
  • Alkaline Trio - a cool band to rock out to. mostly punk and indie-rock.
  • Avenged Sevenfold - An awesome band that mixes punk and metal with melody and an intensity that will blow your mind!
  • Dead Milkmen - A cool Punk band that throws comedy into their songs.
  • Fatboy Slim - A cool dance/techno artist that put christopher walkin in one of his videos and got MANY kudos for it!
  • Garbage - a mix of the sounds of The Eurythmics and Roxy Music with euro-trash and rock.
  • Goo Goo Dolls - One of My favorite bands of rock. have a lot of cool songs with a lot of meaning behind them.
  • Happy Hardcore - a Techno artist that does a lot of mixes with old songs and tv/movie themes.
  • Infected Mushroom - a neat Trance band with many songs that you can rock out to.
