About me
I started on my Weight Watchers journey in May, 2006 - Memorial Day weekend, to be exact. I hit my goal weight on December 9, 2006 and Lifetime status on January 28, 2007.
My story is a common one. I was always on the thin side, until I had my children. Then, I was unable to lose the weight. NOTHING worked. And I tried them all. A friend had recently joined Weight Watchers and was doing really well, so I decided to try it.
It was the best thing I've ever done for myself. Aside from the weight loss - over 54 lbs - I have an increased level of self esteem. I've really changed myself, from the inside out. The meetings are key for me. I have the best WW Leader - her name is Gale. She is also a Registered Dietician and a Nutrionist. I also have a great group of people at the meetings I attend.
It's the high point of my week. With my schedule - I work full time, have a 3-hour commute, have a husband, kids and dog at home, etc. - I have very little time for myself. Thanks to Weight Watchers, I now MAKE time for me and my meetings are a big part of it!
The newest chapter in my lifestyle change is working with a Personal Trainer - Corinne Crabtree. She is also a Lifetime WW member and is the most motivational person I know. We are walking together in the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day (60 miles) this summer.
Through my gym time, I now focus on strength training. I'm currently in "build out" mode, trying to gain back some weight in the form of muscle. I'm also currently training to run in a 5-mile race in May, 2007 to commermorate my one-year WW anniversary.
My other passion is eating clean. I have eliminated trans fats and high fructose corn syrup. I eat all whole foods. Through this, I have also eliminated migraines.
