Iona Abbey Images

These are some of the contestants for the Mr and Mrs Iona 2005. There was one catch, They had to be cross dressed, the guy with his hands on his knees and a scarf on his head won, and he deserved to because he was absolutly hilarious, I have to say he is the next Lilly Savage.

This guy was one of the best Mrs Iona contestants, He was eqaully funny as the the winner. I wouldn't of minded if he came first.

This is the Bedroom that I stayed in with 2 others (the one on the far right and another person who is not pictured).

This is one of the painting in the hallway on the second floor of the Abbey, in which only guests get to see because it's not open to visitors

One of the kitchen staff who was from America. It is also upstairs where only guests go. This lady was cooking scones, it was the first time she ever done them but they tasted really good afterwards.

This is Iona Abbey from the outside

This is the inside part in which the visitors can see, it felt alot like Hogwarts.

This is another angle of the inside.

This is one of the crosses outside the Abbey

This is in the centre of the Abbey, I not too sure what it is but it looks nice.

Here is a closer up picture.

Heres the pillars in the visitor area from the centre of the Abbey (where that oyster thing above is)

Another view. The 1st white window in which is in a row (not that one on its own) was the window of the dorm that I stayed in, the 3rd one along is the dorm that two close friends of mine where staying in...in which one became my girlfriend)

Another view of the centre of the Abbey.

This bell is rung signaling that it is a service, or a meal time.

Heres a close up of one of the pillars in the Abbey.

Another close up of the pillars.

And another.

Yet another.

This is a stained glass window in the Abbey Church.

Here is the Baptisimal font in which is at the back of the Abbey Church, im not to sure if it was ever used but it was sure pretty.

Heres a close up of the Baptisimal font.

This one didn't come out to good but its another picture of a stained glass window in the Abbey's Church.

A window in the Abbey's Church.

This is a stained glass window depicting Saint Columbus whom is buried on Iona.

Two tombs of some important people whom I never looked to see who they were, this is in the Abbey's Church.

This is the original Saint Martins cross in which was in a small museum in the grounds of the Iona Abbey.

Three stones from around the viking times which were also in the museum.

Another artifact which was in the Iona Abbey museum.

These where burial stones of some important people. These too were in the museum.

This cross is one of the originals, I think it was the original Saint martins cross (if the one a few pictures up isn't) I know one of them is the original saint martins cross and I cant remember which one it was.
