Pat Fights it out in the States

Invicta kickboxing middle-weight Pat Sheehan flew out to Florida to take part in the IKF World Classic amateur kickboxing Championships.  This tournament attracts the very best amateurs in the world and is considered to be the most prestigious and challenging events on the Full-Contact Kickboxing calendar.

Pat who is the IKF middleweight southern area champion really took a gamble entering a tournament of this standard with only seven fights under his belt, knowing that many of the fighters involved are far more experienced.

Pat fought his way to the final with two great fights, where he met the United States Champion Chris Chicon in a fight that promised to be a real crowd pleaser. Unfortunately for Pat towards the end of the first round a kick landed under his arm and dislocated his shoulder, totally putting his arm out of action. He bravely tried to see the round out with one arm but was unable to block any kicks on that side and tried to roll his way out of trouble, but in doing so stopped a knee full on the chin that put him to the canvas. The the ref started to take up the count but Pat's corner saw that he would be in no state to continue and waved it over . The doctor and medical staff at ringside put Pat’s arm back in place and he was then awarded the silver medal. No mean feat for the Invicta man.

Pat and all at Invicta wish Chris Chicon the very best of luck as he proved himself to be a true champ with his humility and professionalism. Chris feels sure they will get to fight each other again in the very near future. Everyone at Invicta would also like to thank Colin Payne from TKO for working Pat's corner and giving him the oppertunity to take part.

Chloe Misses Out on Second ABA tite

Chloe Fairhead missed out on her second consecutive ABA title against Shakira Ley from Waltham Forest, with the most outrageously bad decision we have ever seen. One can only imagine the judges were confused with Chloe’s colouring on her kit (it was red on the back) as her performance was so utterly decisive it seems impossible for her not to get the decision.

Everyone in attendance gasped when the decision was announced, even the referee said to Chloe, ‘If it’s any consolation, I thought you won that easy’.

Chloe was fighting out of her usual weight of 48kilo in the 50kilo category, but her smooth counter-punching made the heavier Ley swing wildly and walk onto solid shots which made her constantly hold and grapple. Had it not been for Chloe’s clean Boxing the fight would have been a mess.

Chloe A.B.A Junior National Champ

Chloe Fairhead as continued her unbeaten run with a fantastic win at the Amateur Boxing National Finals, with a second round Technical Knockout against a talented little Boxer, Amber McCullock from The Apollo Gym, who represented the Western Counties. Chloe became the 48 kilo champ with a display of slick boxing and powerful punching at The Police College in Hendon London. Chloe is a ferocious puncher with both hands (as anyone in the club will testify) and used this talent to stun her very game oponent, leaving the ref with no choice but to rescue Amber and save her from further punishment. Chloe would like to thank Amber for the opportunity and thinks she was a great fighter and will go on to be very successful in the future.
