Edward Elric,the oldest of the two brothers, is physically short as well as short tempered. What he loses in height he gains in alchemy. Edward became the youngest State Alchemist in history and called a prodical genius.
All state alchemist are given code names, Edward is dubed Full Metal Alchemist. (Hagane no Renkinjutsushi) due to his auto-mail body, his arm and leg.
He is now on a quest to recover his original body along with his brothers. To accomplish this he is in search for the philosopher's stone. This long search brings them to many life threatening situations.
Name: Alphonse Elric
Nickname: Al
Alphonse Elric was but an innocent young child when a tragic chain of events changed his life forever. First, his father mysteriously vanished while Al was too young to remember. Then, after battling a terrible illness, Al’s mother succumbed to death. Finally, during a horrific accident performing forbidden Alchemy, Al’s soul was sealed inside a suit of armor. Undaunted and unashamed by all that has happened in his short life, Al carries on, eternally supporting his older brother, Edward, in his search for the Philosopher’s Stone, a legendary gem with the power to restore Al’s body and Edward’s lost limbs. Al knows that he and his brother’s actions were wrong. He only wishes for the chance to make things right.
Name: Winry Rockbell
Nickname: N/A {Crazy Mechanic with a dangerous wrench?}
Winry Rockbell has known Edward and Alphonse as long as she can remember. And as one might expect, Winry cares deeply for her childhood friends. It was Winry who assisted in attaching Ed’s Auto-Mail after the botch human transmutation that took his limbs away. She is much more comfortable in a garage or breaking down and rebuilding complicated mechanical devices than anywhere else.
Name: Pinako Rockbell
Nickname: Unknown
Pinako is the elderly relative of Winry Rockbell, childhood friend of Ed and Al. Pinako serves as Winry’s caretaker after her parents are killed in battle. Pinako also happens to be the brilliant Auto-Mail mechanic who first fitted Ed with his mechanical limbs. She tells it like it is and isn’t afraid to butt heads with anyone over anything. She is tough as nails, but maintains a soft spot for Ed and Al despite disagreeing with Ed’s desire to join the terrible State Army.
Name: Trisha Elric
Nickname: Mom
Trisha Elric’s life was beautiful, peaceful, and full of promise until her husband went away, never to return. Saddled with two small boys and the truth about her husband, Trisha battled through the good times and the bad. Despite her brave exterior, darkness triumphed, eating away at her health until she could no longer combat the inevitable. On her deathbed, Trisha realized the amazing talents her sons possessed and the great work they were destined to do. Little did she know that Edward and Alphonse would soon attempt the most forbidden practice in all of Alchemy.
Name: Roy Mustang
NickName: Flame Alchemist {Sexy Much!}
Roy Mustang is the Flame Alchemist and a veteran of many brutal battles. He personally knew Edward and Alphonse’s father, which sparked his curiosity once he discovered that Hohenheim’s sons were dabbling in alchemical arts. Mustang is eager to climb the ladder of success and hopes that discovering the immense talent within Edward helps him ascend the ranks. Still, Mustang’s soldiers are the most loyal in all of the State Army claiming there is more to this man than his thirst for power.
Name: Maes Hughes
Nickname: Lieutenant Colonel
Maes Hughes is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Investigations Division of the State Army. Hughes is obsessively in love with his wife, Gracia, and only child, Elicia, who from birth shares a strange connection with Ed and Al. Hughes is friendly and extremely casual, sometimes to a fault. He can quickly lapse back and forth between discussing State matters to going on and on about his family. As a high-ranking official in the Investigations Division, Hughes is privy to plenty of top-secret info, which he shares with Ed on the sly. When Hughes is nudged into physical combat, his weapons of choice are small throwing knives, which he wields with incredible and deadly accuracy.
Name: Riza Hawkeye
Nickname: Unknown {Trigger Happy}
Riza Hawkeye is quite possibly the most perfect model of a soldier in the State Army. Although Hawkeye is Roy Mustang's subordinate, she is also his right hand woman, acting as an advisor and, based on the circumstance, devil's advocate. Her no nonsense attitude demands respect from everyone she meets, military and civilian alike. She is cool, calm, and collected, and exceptionally skilled in the use of firearms.
Name: Shou Tucker
Nickname: Sewing-Life Alchemist
Shou Tucker earned the title Sewing-Life Alchemist thanks in large part to his masterful work creating Chimeras for the State. In fact, Tucker was the first Alchemist to produce a Chimera capable of speaking and understanding the human language. Tucker lives in Central with his beloved daughter, Nina. Tucker is a man with incredible brilliance and immense talent. But he is also a man held slave by the Government that both employs and controls him. He does his best to put on a strong front, but his sadness is apparent. The irony that he can create life, but that his own is being controlled is not lost upon Shou Tucker.
Name: Basque Grand
Nickname: {Get that thing on ur face cut off!}
Basque Grand is Brigadier General, a position second only to Fuhrer King Bradley. Grand’s orders are always followed to the letter and his motivations are never publicly questioned. That is, until Ed arrives on the scene. Grand comes from a world where orders are never questioned, and where those orders are carried out above and beyond their intentions. Grand does not suffer fools lightly, and will punish anyone who questions his authority. It is apparent that Grand has something devious cooked up in his mind, although no one has any proof to the accusations.
Name: Fuhrer King Bradley
Nickname: The Fuhrer
The Fuhrer commands both the State Government and the State Army making him without question the most powerful man in the entire world. Bradley is free spirited and easygoing to the point that some might find him too relaxed. But in battle Bradley was known as one of the most powerful and vicious warriors in history. His specialty is swordplay. Bradley seems to have a very specific reason for wanting Mustang and Edward to not discover the Philosopher’s Stone.
Name: Jean Havoc
Nickname: 2nd Lieutenant {Sexy Tooo Much!}
Jean Havoc is a Second Lieutenant for the Sate Army. Havoc is somewhat dull at times, but his intense friendship and loyalty to Roy Mustang knows no end. Havoc is a strict man of duty. He never lets any situation get the best of him. He goes by the book, even if he knows what he is being asked to do is not the course of action he would make if he were in charge.
