Once a long time ago in fuedal japan a half-demon known as inuyasha pursued the sheikon jewel,also known as the jewel of four souls so he can become a full-fledged demon,but on his way to finding the jewel he meets kikyo who wishes for inuyasha to become full human with the help of the sheikon jewel...but then inuyasha was played in a demons insidious plot who wanted the jewel,so he tricked kikyo into thinking he was inuyasha.now kikyo has shot inuyasha with an enchanted a arrow and inuyasha wakes up 50 years later by the reincarnation of kikyo,kogome who travled through time by the sacred well kogome trys to take back the sheikon jewel from a bird demon in the process she has shattered the jewel,now they must work together with any friends they can find to retrieve the sheikon jewel.

The reason this jewel is called the sheikon jewel is that sheikon means four souls and along time ago there was a priestess battling all sorts of demons at once and she had the power to purify demon souls rendering them harmless,but then one demon got its fang in her chest out of there came the jewel of four souls and the names of the four souls are aramitama, nigimitama, kushimitama, and sakimitama, aramitama was courage,nigimitama was friendship,kushimitama was wisdom,and sakimitama was love,when combined as one soul they are called nyobi and there is still a battle going on inside the jewel of four souls
