Our Goal Is To Keep Predators Away From Kids Online Thank you for visiting our website. We are a volunteer group that goes online with the sole purpose of creating fake user profiles (so that we appear to be children) and locate online sexual predators. Every day we use websites like myspace.com and look for inappropriate postings, profiles and interactions between children and suspicious users. When such profiles or users are located we immediately report them to website officials, and if necessary, to law enforcement. Please click here to read more about us and what we do. |

Tips for Keeping Kids Safe Online We believe that all children who are old enough to use a computer should be educated on the dangers of the internet. The internet can be a wonderful tool for children, but rules need to be followed. This type of education should come from home and from school. Information can be provided to children during school programs on kidnapping, or even during regular computer class. Click here to read some tips for keeping your kids safe online.
How to Report a Suspected Online Predator If you believe that a predator is contacting your child online, you need to take immediate action. More important than anything, make sure your child is not in any immediate danger. Find out if your child gave the suspect any personally identifiable information (ex. full name, address, personal email address, telephone number, school name, etc). All of this information can potentially be used to locate your child (an online reverse telephone search, for example, can provide the suspect with your home address). Some online predators use this information to attempt physical contact with children - usually for sex. Remember not to get angry or yell at your child because they may withhold information for fear of “getting in trouble” with you or police. Reassure your child & let them know that “everything is going to be alright” (even if you are scared!) Once you have determined that your child is not in any immediate danger, you should contact the CyberTipline, and/or your local authorities. The CyberTipline has an online form where you can report suspicious online contact. If you have any details about the person you should include that as well (ex. email address, IP address, screen name/profile name, etc). Save everything - don’t delete messages or photos because they are “dirty” or contain inappropriate content. You will very likely need to provide this information to law enforcement so they can apprehend & convict the adult responsible. |
