10/31 New Zealand stays in ISC
After being disqualified for failing to vote in the 45th edition of the contest for the first time since it joined the contest back in edition 27, New Zealand will return for the 46th edition. "We are very sorry about our failure to vote in the last edition of the contest" says HOD Owen "Circumstances out of our control led us to the failure, the failure is worse because we all loved our entry last edition and realised that we would have qualified had we been able to vote!, We return to the contest determined to do well next edition". This edition New Zealand will enter their first male solo singer, Dane Rumble will represent the country in Tallinn with his first solo single Always Be Here. Dane first felt fame when he became a founding member of New Zealand Hip Hop band, Fast Crew and as part of the band has supported international superstars such as Missy Elliot, Black Eyed Peas and Busta Rhymes. In 2008 the band disbanded and Dane Rumble persued a solo career. His solo sound is a lot different to the music he was making in Fast Crew, being likened to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Sam Sparro. The song he will perform in Estonia reached number 13 in the New Zealand charts but spent 20 consecutive weeks in the top 40.

10/26 Albania makes internal selection again
Once again Albania decided to choose the entry for International Song Contest with an internal selection. The delegation was not happy at all with the result of Anjeza Shahini, that came last in the final, and decided to try something different. "We were waiting for a better result, but we'll always be ready for another try" said the Head of the delegation. The albanian singer Alban Skenderaj is going to represent Albania this edition with the song "Eklips". This song also took part in Festivali i Këngës, and came 4th. "It's an acoustic pop ballad, we will try something different now. Alban is a very talented singer, we believe he will make the country proud." said the whole delegation.

10/26 Brazil wants to shine with a powerful ballad
After Brazil didn't pass to the Final last edition, we decided to send one of the most beautiful ballads at the moment that are an huge hit in brazilian radios and charts.
Marina Elali will try for the third time a victory in ISC, but this time she will not be alone on stage, and with her we will see Cuban-American singer Jon Secada. They will sing together 'Lost Inside Your Heart'.
This song is a wonderful ballad that is included in brazilian telenovela 'Viver a Vida'.
Almost all opinions about this song are really positive and people compares this song to other great songs from Marina Elali like 'One Last Cry' or 'Eu Vou Seguir'.
Their voices are amazing and unique, and we hope making to the Final and won ISC maybe. Nothing is impossible, we just need to believe.
We hope all love this song and we also hope to touch your heart with such an amazing song.
Good Luck to everyone.

10/08 Three disqualifications in ISC-45
The organisation of the International Song Contest had to disqualify three songs from the semi-finals. China and New Zealand were disqualified for Not Voting, whilst Bosnia-Herzegovina got the penalty for sending in a group that was not Bosnian. According to the rules, 50% of a group must be from the country they represent. This is not the case in Femminem, where two of the three singers are Croatian in the ISC-45 song.

Bosnia-Herzegovina is allowed to take part in ISC-46, China and New Zealand are disqualified, unless they give a good explanation the the management of ISC.

Tonight around 20.00 hour, the results of the ISC-45 semifinals will be anounced !

09/25 Albania is back in ISC-45
The Albanian delegation is back in the contest. They made an internal selection and the chosen one was Anjeza Shahini, one of the strongest voices of the country. Anjeza will sing "Erdhi Momenti", the lead single of her debut album released last year. The head of Albania delegation said: We had to leave the contest for a while against our will but now we are back, and don't wait to see Albania leaving International Song Contest soon. About our choice, we had Anjeza Shahini and two male singers in our list, we can't review their names beacuse they can be selected for the next editions. We decided for Anjeza in the hoping that her fame for participating in Eurovision Song Contest 2004 will be an extra factor during the voting. We hope you will enjoy our entry, and good luck for all teh countries.

09/12 Slight RULE CHANGE comparing National Final-songs
The management of the International Song Contest has decided to make a slight change in the rules of ISC. They are concerning the 'song-ruling' acounting National Final songs for Eurovision:

  • You can use one song from each National Final for Eurovision. For example; only one song from Melodifestivalen 2009, Eurolaul 2010 and Belgium's Eurosong 2009 are available. So pick your NF-song wisely !
  • Songs from a National Final are available as soon as we know for sure this will not be the Eurovision entry.

The ISC-management after many complaints by ISC-members. Manager Dennis will explain the discission: "We want ISC to be a contest to discover new music. We hear to many songs from Eurovision's National Finals, sometimes even still in the month's august or november ! Still rule is making sure that members from European countries do their best to find original songs, or at least send new songs from NF-artists".

The management was also thinking about making rulings to make sure that there will be send no 'well-known' songs to the contest. "However it is to difficult to make a rule for that," states Dennis. "We need to count on our members to not send in famous songs by (for example) Lady GaGa, Tatu, Rammstein, Within Temptation of Maria Mena. We would like to hear new songs in ISC, so we hope that everybody will try to do their best!"

The new rules will go in from now on, so they will be applied in ISC-45 already. Check all rules on the rules-page

09/12 Rankings have been updated after ISC-44

The rankings have been updated with the results of ISC-44, with the medal table, the all-time Ranking and the top-20 songs list of all time. The top-countries like Sweden, Russia and Netherlands have done well and increased their lead !

    09/12 Internal selection for Norway
John Carew and the Norwegian national team tries hard to qualify for World Cup 2010.
But now its time for his sister Elisabeth Carew who has been granted another try in ISC.
This time she will sing one of her new songs, its called Even if the rain.
The song has a nice rhytmn and lyrics and is about that even if hard times comes the love will never fade away (I think)
And remember Hold on be strong, cause even if the rain falls down, love will never fade away.

09/11 Lisa Hannigan is next Irish artist
The Irish delegation, having found itself short on time this month, has opted for an internal selection for ISC 45 instead of a national final.  The lucky performer is Lisa Hannigan, and she will perform the song "I Don't Know," a melodic, romantic choice by a talented singer.  Lisa has performed on several television shows in her native Ireland and in the United States, and was featured in an episode of the hit show "Grey's Anatomy."  To watch the videoclip of "I Don't Know," visit <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSaPbVjcrp4>.

09/07 Himeka for Japan to ISC 45
For the first time Japan is sending an artist that is not born in home soil, HIMEKA is a new japanese sensation only that she is not japanese, but canadian. She was the winner of the Second Annual Animax Anison Grand Prix in Japan that gathers aspiring singers from all over Japan for the chance to make a professional debut and sing a theme song in an anime television show. Her debut single is Asu e no Kizuna wich is the opening theme of the anime Valkyria Chronicles. Thanks to her recent popularity Tokyo TV has decided that she should be the next representative at the upcoming International Song Contest with the song "Asu e no Kizuna". You can see a video that shows how she is got to become the first canadian  idol in Japan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9DH0RwFMTo (sorry only in japanese).

09/06 New Zealand has nothing to hide in ISC45
ISC New Zealand has decided to send its song for the next edition of ISC early this time, confirming their contestant even before the result of the previous edition is announced. Gin Wigmore shot to fame earlier this year when she collaborated with New Zealand band Smashproof on their song Brother, a song which broke a 23 year record for the longest consecutive period at number one in the New Zealand charts for a home grown single, entering the charts on January the 26th it spent 5 weeks climbing to the top spot and spent 11 weeks there, finally being knocked off by Eminem and We Made You. The song Gin will be performing in ISC however is her own composition, Under My Skin, has already very recognisable in New Zealand as it has been used as the backing track for Air New Zealand’s latest advertising campaign entitled “Air New Zealand, the airline whose prices have nothing to hide”, and has caused sensation in NZ with flight attendants wearing only body paint in the commercials.
