Intergenerational Poster Project.
This was running in conjunction with the Web Page Project and started with a joint initial discussion with workshop leader Dave Fleming . The Home Page shows their final results. Click on the image below to get the full view of the posters.
Peter’s says
The subject of ageism is a very important one, and something that affects all of
us. It wasn't until this project was fully underway that I realized the
extent to which this is true, and the many ways that our smallest actions and
opinions can contribute to the presence, or lack, of ageism.
The people who were involved in the project were all individually, and
collectively, amazing. They all provided an extraordinary standard of
input, and most of the time it felt as if the group was a collection of peers
all learning from each other. I suppose the idea of the project may have
been to highlight this fact... that we are all, young and old, equals involved
in the same process.
Despite the feeling of being an equal, I thought it very important to take a
passive role in the process towards the final product. I did not want to
dictate the direction, rather just funnel the ideas coming from the participants
towards a final piece. As this was a workshop style project and not a
personal design commission, I really had almost no influence on any of the
design decisions. The final posters are products of decisions and
discussions had within the group, and all of the photographs, concepts, wording
are there own work.
Regardless of the fact that no-one had much experience in this style of
photography or poster design, I think the outcome is really impressive.
As well as the final product the process of discussion and exploration of the
subject, which I think was the most important part, was a complete success.'

Song Writing Project
The process of working with both groups separately, then bringing them together was interesting and I think, successful. They were both able to speak their minds o the issue without feeling constrained and also get used to the process of actually writing a song. As well as that, the songs we came up with when they were working on their own were really good and valuable in their own right.
Both groups approached the project with equal enthusiasm and were, I believe, really chuffed with what they achieved. They surprised themselves with their ability to compose music and write lyrics and they really enjoyed playing and singing in the studio!
when they started working together I suppose there was a little reticence on both sides but it didn't take long for them to break down the barriers which seemed top prove the point of the whole project!
