Diocese of Novaliches
The enormous size of the Archdiocese of Manila led to the establishment of the Diocese of Novaliches by Pope John Paul II. It comprises the northern part of Caloocan City and the part of Quezon City that lies to the north of the main road called Tandang Sora.The diocese was established on 7 December 2002, by His Holiness Pope John Paul II and was dedicated to Jesus, The Good Shepherd

Bishop Teodoro C. Bacani Jr. was the first Bishop assigned to the Nova diocese. His term lasted until November 25, 2003. Bishop Antonio R.Tobias was appointed as his successor up to the present.The Nova diocese is composed of 9 vicariates with a total of 57 parishes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bishop Tobias introduced many changes, including the establishment of necessary commissions and in terms of remuneration, the standardization of compensation of priests. Furthermore, CLAN was created, to foster laity empowerment.
At present, the diocese has 2 vicar generals Rev. . Fr. Antonio Labiao is in charge of pastoral administration while Rev. Fr. Gerry Tapiador for finance and administration. H.E. Bp Antonio R.. Tobias, D.D. and the two vicar generals are assisted by the Consultores.
