Gari and Naomi

Gari and Naomi have performed together for the last three years, here and in Europe. Each performance by (Insieme) are unique, tailor made for your enjoyment, from a traditional concert of beautiful music to completely surprising your audience with an impromptu concert they weren't expecting. Singing together is a real joy for Gari and Naomi, but if you would love to hear your favourite trio or quartet, we have a wonderful group of guest artists that we use for such occasions.

Naomi Watson

Naomi Watson studied at Chetham’s School of Music and at the Royal Academy of Music, London and graduated in 1998. Whilst studying, she was the recipient of the Grisi and Mario Prize for Contemporary Song (1995), the Ricordi Prize for Opera (1995) and 2nd Prize in the Premio Valentino Bucchi International Singing Competition for 20th Century Music, Rome (1996). Her operatic repertoire while at the Royal Academy of Music included Illia IDOMENEO, Susanna and Barbarina LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, First Witch DIDO AND AENEAS, Polinessa RADAMISTO, Donna Anna in Gazzaniga’s DON GIOVANNI and Elettra IDOMENEO.

Naomi Watson operatic repertoire includes Mimi LA BOHEME and Susanna LE NOZZE DI FIGARO for Opera Brava, Scheherazade in Stephen McNeff’s A THOUSAND AND ONE NIGHTS, Giulietta in Sousa de Carvalho’s L’AMORE INDUSTRIOSO for Opera Holland Park, Papagena/Pamina DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE and Pousette and title role MANON for English Touring Opera, Clorinda LA CENERENTOLA for Mid Wales Opera and DIARY OF ONE WHO DISAPPEARED on tour with ENO in Dublin, Paris and London. Foreign engagements include Silva L’ISOLA DISABITATA at the Teatro Naçional de São Carlos, Portugal and a Recital of Bucchi and 20th Century Music at the Oratorio Borromini, Rome.

Equally at home on the concert platform, Naomi Watson’s concert repertoire includes CHANTS D’AUVERGNE, FRAUEN LIEBEN UND LEBEN, Berg SIEBEN FRÜHE LIEDER, Birtwistle LA PLAGE as well as ELIJAH, MESSIAH, Brahms GERMAN REQUIEM, Bach ST JOHN PASSION, Mozart MASS IN C MINOR, Haydn HARMONIEMESSE, Rossini PETITE MESSE SOLENNELLE, Handel SOLOMON, Schubert MASS IN G and Monteverdi VESPERS.

Gari began his musical studies with piano and guitar, he finished his education at Maidstone College of Art, while still continuing his musical studies. He studies with Raymond Connell (Singing teacher), Robyn Sevastos (Music coach), Ludmilla Andrew ( Music coach), Eileen Bendell (Drama coach) and has coached with prominent vocal coach Fernando Bandera in Italy. He has also worked with many music coaches from The Guildhall School of Music and Trinity School of Music.

His first step into grand opera was as Cavaradossi in Tosca, followed by Don Jose in (Carmen), Turiddu (Cav), Canio (Pag), Rodolfo (Boheme) Alfredo (Trav) and Radames (Aida).
