  • Hiding an ED is v. hard  but here are some tricks to help.  Don't look at me like that!
  • Clear your internet history after viewing pro-ana sites. Tools > Internet Options > Clear History.
  • Wear alot of layors and baggy clothes! My school uniform jumper is over 3 sizes too big. I go for a skater look sometimes so I can pull it off! Woo
  • Hiding diet pills in v. hard, I know. I hide mine in a teddy bear! I cut a hole at the back and shoved 'em in.
  • Talk against pro ED sites if you can.
  • Leave dirty dishes and food wrappers lying around the house.  People will think you've been eating.
  • Try NOT to talk bout food/cals 24/7
  • If you go to school or work it should be easy to avoid the questions, but one that i like is. 'Oh i never eat during the day only a massive breakfast and a big tea.'
  • If people start saying they're worried about your weight loss, get really upset and say how mad you get every time somebody comments on your skinny body. Complain a lot about how you wish you could gain weight so people will stop making rude comments.
  • Take a lot of vitamins to look healthy
  • If you're being weighed (by a doctor, nurse ect) put pennies/coins in your underwear
  • Wake up late, therefore, you have to rush out of the house, only grabbing 'a bite to eat' which can conviently be thrown away once in a safe zone

*      Convince yourself you are allergic to things, convince others

*        If you have braces say you can only eat if you have a toothbrush on you because of the food between your teeth, and since you don't, you can't

*      I'm just getting over the flu and my doctor said to only drink fluids for a while

*       If you're on your period, say to your parents your going to take your food in your bedroom because you have bad cramps, then dispose of the food in your room

*        In the holidays, if you live with your parents, wake up late so you don't need to have breakfast, get out the house as soon as possible. avoid lunch & dinner & when you arrive home later tell them 'I wasn't up to lunch so I had a HUGE dinner, i'm stuffed' Then go to your room, & plan whats gonna happen tomorrow

*      Don't show off your weight loss until you've reached the weight you want to remain at. People will start to watch you more carefully and maybe ask questions, and you want to avoid calling attention to yourself.

Tips for at the doctors

  • Dress warmly; even if they make you put on a paper gown, your body will hopefully retain enough heat that your temperature will be somewhat normal.
  • Do anything to make yourself weigh more: drink water(16 oz. equals about one lb.),wear big shoes or a giant belt, put change in your pockets, anything.
  • If your throat is sore from purging, make an obvious fuss about it; say you've been waking up with a sore throat for a week now. That way, when your doc checks, he/she won't be surprised to see redness and irritation.
  • Wear ankle weight if you can, just make sure there high up so when you take off you shoes they want see them!
  • Wear alot of jewelry it won't add alot of weight, but it will help, even if you do look a little cheap for wearing so much. (Dangling earings, hoops, heavy bracelets and a couple rings, I'm not a fan of big rings or necklace pendants, but buy one even if you don't like it, it will help!) Ladies put pennies in your bra even
  • Cuts, burns, scratches, bruises...anything you do to harm yourself...it will ring alarm bells with any doctor. You know your body and you know how long it will take to heal. You also know when your doctor's appointment is (hopefully). Make sure you're all healed up before you go see your doc, and if he/she notices any scars, say you've stopped and you don't plan on starting. I know how hard it is to "just not cut," but trust me, it's better than the alternative.

Red flags a normal person would notice as warnings. These are the steps:

Step One

Notice whether the person is losing weight quickly. Anorexics lose at least 25 percent of their body weight. The most common times for the onset of anorexia are during puberty and when a person enters college.

Step Two

Observe whether the person eats. Does she actually consume the food on her plate, or is she more apt to cut it into small pieces and push it around? Has the person stopped going out to eat with friends? If she does go out to eat, does she often not order anything, claiming that she is not hungry or has already eaten?

Step Three

Observe whether the person is fasting excessively. Fasting is often used as a sort of cleansing process, but excessive fasting can indicate a more serious eating problem.

Step Four

Is the person constantly exercising? Does she explicitly state what the exercise is for - for example, saying, "I have to go work off the bagel I just ate"?

Step Five

Listen for high levels of body dissatisfaction despite weight loss. Anorexics never think they are thin enough and will often change their weight loss goals after reaching an initial goal. They also weigh themselves frequently.

Step Six

Observe whether the person experiences lack of concentration and/or confused thinking. People need energy from food to think, and when an anorexic deprives herself of energy, her thinking becomes slower and more clouded.

Step Seven

Observe whether the person complains of dizziness and/or experiences fainting spells. Without the intake of food, an anorexic will be fatigued and have a low glucose level, and may not have enough energy to engage in normal day-to-day activities. On the other hand, some anorexics are able to exercise excessively despite their very low caloric intake.

Step Eight

Notice a change in hair growth. A malnourished person will lose hair on her scalp and will also grow an extra layer of thin hair on her body to help her stay warm.

Step Nine

Notice if the person often complains of cold or wears an unusual amount of clothing for warm weather. Without the insulating layer of adipose (fatty) tissue, an anorexic will need extra clothing to stay warm. Also, wearing extra-baggy clothing can hide extreme weight loss from concerned friends and family.

Bigest giveaways:

If you always say no to food, for no reason or you use excuses too much. Check out this vid, its amazing, you can "eat"

People find your Ana scrapbook. This is the most avoidable one, so PLEASE hide it safely and in somewhere that YOU will remember.

People notice how pale/thin you are. Wear plenty of layors, fake tan (if you aren't naturally pale) and keep your hair in good condition.

You go on about being fat, big NO NO. If you claim to be anorexic for attention then you're a wannarexic, and thats pathetic.

People may see SI scaring/marks. Cover them well, with plenty of braclets, arm warmers, watches, long sleeves. I got so desperate once, I covered marks on my wrist with foundation. Not a good idea.

You are grumpy and moody. Being upbeat is unpossible with this disorder so take vitamins, caffine, even fiber! They all boost your mood. A banana is a brilliant mood booster for the mornings.
