I wanna be so skinny that I rot from view

Q: Whats all this? Isn't thinspiration pictures of skinny people?

A: Supposidly yes, but we can all get thinspiration from odd places. Music, quotes, stories can inspire us just as much (or more in some peoples cases) to achieve what we truly want. Remember all that glitters is not gold, you know sometimes words have two meanings.

Myth: Barbie and Ken are hot!

Fact:
If Barbie were a real woman-She would have to grow to be seven feet tall. She would have a bust that was between 38-40 inches, her waist 18-24 inches, her hips around 33-35 inches. Barbie's weight would be 110 pounds. If she were a real woman-Barbie would have to walk on all fours due to her proportions. If Ken were a real man-he would be seven-feet, eight-inches tall. An average man would have to add seven inches to his chest and about eight inches to his neck to equal Ken's measurements.

I made this vid. It was mainly a distraction but hey...

Celebritys and EDs

Britney SpearsBritney Spears

Us Weekly reports: Spears is in the middle of a divorce with aspiring rapper Kevin Federline. The pair have two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James. The pop princess was sent to Promises rehab center for alcohol abuse and was released on March 20. She seemed as if she was ready to turn her life around but recent reports say she is drinking again, binge shopping and eating too much. Star magazine estimates Spears weighs at least 135 pounds now.

Eating disorder specialist Gregory Jantz Ph.D. says he would describe the troubled singer as having a “binge personality” and very “compulsive.” “She’ll do mega workouts and watch what she eats for, say, two months and then she’ll return to her binging behavior, which gives her a temporary feeling of comfort,” Dr. Jantz says.

Nicole RichieNicole RichieNicole Richie
As an Eating Disorder expert, Dr. Jantz was interviewed by Weekly InTouch Magazine (Sept 4, 2006, Vol.5 Issue 36, page 15) about Nicole Richie.

"Nicole could die if she doesn't stop dieting," Dr. Jantz, an eating disorder specialist and the founder of A Place of Hope treatment center in Seattle, tells In Touch. "She's putting herself in a dangerous place."

Nicole Richie pregnantOne treatment center stated at only 25 years old Nicole Richie may be in danger of losing her baby if she does not get help from an anorexia treatment center.
Medical experts say that her battle with anorexia mixed with alcohol and cocaine abuse are probably putting her baby’s life in danger.  If Nicole was to enter an anorexia treatment center she would probably get the help she needed and her pregnancy would not be as at risk. The 12 weeks pregnant Nicole still struggles to stay sober everyday.  Experts also believe that she still has a long way to go to become completely sober.  Doctors say that if Nicole had drugs in her system when she got pregnant or shortly there after, she has a greater risk of birth defects, or even a miscarriage. Nicole’s anorexia also presents her pregnancy with another huge risk.  Many are surprised that she was even able to get pregnant at all.  During the course of her pregnancy she will need to gain 40 pounds or more just to be able to feed and nourish the baby properly.

Ana Carolina RestonBrazil model Ana Carolina Reston, who weighed only 88 pounds, dies at 21 because of generalized infection as a result of anorexia.

"Take care for your children because their loss is irreparable," Reston's mother, Miriam, told the O Globo newspaper. "Nothing can make the pain go away. No money in the world is worth the life of your child."

The model's cousin, Dani Grimaldi, told the Estado de Sao Paulo newspaper that Reston also battled bulimia.

It is always heartbreaking to me when somebody dies as the result of not getting treatment for an eating disoder. Especially, at the young age of 21. This is also why I am strongly against pro-ana websites. Those who promote pro-anorexia do not understand how serious anorexia can be. It is an eating disorder that needs to be taken serious.

If you know someone who is suffering from an eating disorder, I want you to know there is hope if you get them help in time. If you would like more information on how you can help someone you suspect, or you know, has an eating disorder, click here for Special Reports on helping others.
Dr. Gregory L. Jantz

"Bulimia is a hidden disease. To fight it, first you have to recognize you have it. Then you need to start talking about."

Barbi TwinsThe Barbi Twins
Though they bared their bodies in Playboy, pinups Sia and Shane Barbi said models are not to blame for society's obsession with personal image; they, like many women, are victims of an over-emphasis on a waif-like physique. Calista FlockhartCalista Flockhart

Carre OtisCarre Otis
As a top fashion model, Carre Otis made her living on looking thin and beautiful. But now she is sharing the ugly truth about the weight-loss strategies she subjected herself to and the dire health consequences that resulted.

“I had been on this insane diet for almost 17 years to maintain the weight that was demanded of me when I was modeling,” Otis says. “My diet was really starvation. I am not naturally that thin so I had to go through everything from using drugs to diet pills to laxatives to fasting. Those were my main ways of controlling my weight.”

Cathy RibyCathy Rigby
In the 1968 Summer Olympics at Mexico City, a blond, pigtailed 15-year-old girl earned the highest U.S. scores in gymnastics. She captured the hearts of millions of people around the world and changed the course of women's gymnastics in the United States. There's nothing to be  ashamed about. You'll be amazed at the difference it'll make to your whole life if you tell someone you trust. There are lots of people who want to help and you really CAN'T fight this one on your own. It might be a hard decision to make, to tell people and to seek help but, trust me it's nowhere as hard as trying to deal with it on your own." "I became a spokeswoman for eating disorders," Jamie-Lynn shares with ET, "I would say about three or four months after I actually came out about it. It is a tough thing to talk about it, but it is actually therapeutic for me. I know it is something that touches almost every girl, and men, too."

The best advice Jamie-Lynn can offer is that "if you know someone who is going through it, or if you are going through it, the person really has to want to get better to get better. Just make sure that you let them know that you love them and that you are there for them when they are ready, because that's really all I needed to hear."

"I'm talking mainly about doing stuff like not eating when I'm hungry. Or eating more than I really want to and then trying to get rid of it."

Bateman said she was sure people knew. "In fact, when they'd say, 'You look anorexic,' I'd take it as a compliment."

Karen CarpenterKaren Carpenter
She went on a water diet to lose weight and, as she put it, to appear more attractive. Continued to diet even after losing 20 lbs, until her death at the age of 32. Singer and dancer , famous for her daring necklines and skin-tight dresses, has a secret weapon for keeping her figure sexy and trim. She employs a highly priced "food cop" to patrol her kitchen.

Top Hollywood nutritionist Yolanda Berman keeps a strict eye on what 36-year-old Abdul keeps in her pantry, cupboards and fridge. Abdul once thought nothing of sitting down to wolf down a whole cake, a bag of biscuits and a tub of ice cream. Then she would retreat to the bathroom and purge herself of the food. She had to overcome the eating disorder bulimia, whose sufferers binge and purge, by checking into a clinic in 1994. Abdul was once also an exercise junkie, trying to burn off the extra kilojoules she had taken in by over-indulging in food. "I used to be a fanatic," she says. "I used to exercise four or five times a day. "Now it's different. I don't exercise too much for the wrong reasons. Three times a week I'll do some cardiovascular or aerobic activity.

She was also diagnosed with anorexia nervosa and bulimia in 1990. She had almost starved herself to death. But her family, friends and husband helped her overcome the disorders. When she returned to acting, she starred in a dozen TV movies.

In September 2005 Wynonna made a second appearance on the show, discussing how she has lost some weight (but not yet at her goal weight). In 2006, Wynonna checked herself into Shades of Hope Treatment Center for food addiction. "It was consuming a lot of my life. I mean I felt like -- I mean food to me is what alcohol is to the alcoholic and the struggles up and down. You know the business. One minute you're number one. The next minute you're number zero. And I had just been using food for every emotion I had. If I was joyful, we'd go out to eat. You know how it is when you have kids. It's all about snacks and food and carrying it with me on the road. And, I just -- it became too much, so I did something about it."

Two classic Ana vids. Get yo ass on YT and look up some more..

Ana's child by anon

A girl in the croud,

she stands alone.

But unlike the others,

Shes all skin and bone.

She treasures her size,

Yet she wants to be thinner.

To eat is to sin,

She will not be the sinner.

So every day,

she steps on the scales.

The numbers are small,

She feels like a whale.

Her parents are blind,

Or else they dont care.

Yet everyone else,

They turn and they stare.

She became so thin,

as light as a feather.

That one day,

With the lovelest weather.

She stepped on a cloud,

And flew far, far away.

Where she is now,

Is quite hard to say.

But where ever she is,

She's happier then you.

So be thin as possible,

And maybe you'll fly away too.
