| The Huang River Valley has one of the biggest deltas in the world. A civilization began there around 4000 B.C.E. |

| --Huang River Valley Farming-- |
The Huang River Valley provided a great place for farming. The farmers grew rice, millet, wheat, green onions, ginger, grapes, peaches, plums, and wild chestnuts. They also herded animals in treeless, dry areas. The floods could be deadly so the farmers built levees to hold back the water. |
| --Government and Craftworking-- |
The Huang River Valley society was like a pyramid, with low-class in the bottom (the majority of te populus) and upper-class/emperors at the top. Around 2700 BCE the weavers learned how to make and use silk. They made many fine clothes, but the rulers of the land wanted to keep silk a secret. The Huang River Valley people also invented the seismograph and paper. This allowed them to keep records and to know when earthquakes were going to happen. |
