Gie, directed by Riri Riza, and Janji Joni by director Joko Anwar are confirmed to enter Pudan Film Festival 2005. Riri was also selected as one of 27 filmmakers for Pusan Promotion Plan (PPP, filmmakers presentating before distributors and prospective investors). Riri will present Tiga Hari Sebelum Selamanya, a road movie penned by Sinar Ayu Massie. PPP has selected the 27 projects from 150 entries. Besides Riri Riza, projects from Kim Ki-duk (Korea), Fruit Chan (Hong Kong) and Djamshed Usmanov (Tajikistan-France) were also selected. Kara Anak Sebatang Pohon, a short by Edwin – which was also selected in Cannes’ Directors Fortnight in May – was also selected for Pusan. In addition, Edwin was chosen to participate in the workshop held by the Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA), along with other international young filmmakers. Guest tutors in the workshop include Hou Hsiao Hsen (The Blue Kite).
