Mia was born into a world like no other. She never met her parents as she was taken from them at birth, she knows little of them, just that her birth was planned. The moment Mia was born she was taken to a secret area, where trees surrounded her with blood red leaves. She spent the best part of a year in solitary, yet she was constantly watched. She learnt to find food, shelter and defend herself where possible. Little did she know it was all part of her training.
It was the end of Mia's first year and suddenly she found herself in the presence of two stallions, they wore black cloths over their faces so they could not be identified and spoke nothing, they led her to a base camp, where others of her age were performing training exercises and being fitted with armour. Mia had grown into a strong minded and confident mare, she did not ask questions, she almost knew what was expected of her. She fitted into training well, she worked hard, her fitness levels grew along with her abilities to fight.
It was here that she met Suna, she was amoung the trainees and her quick witted temperament imprssed Mia, enough for her to call Suna a friend. Mia moved through the ranks quicker than any mare. She was admired by the general, a bulky stallion with a grey pelt and long wise beard. He often joked that she would soon take his place, it was sooner that expected. Mia was put into her first battle, a battle for homeland rights against creatures once forgotten. Hideous beings who bore sharp claws and fangs, yet were too large and clumbsy to outwit Mia and her army. Mia's agility levels were astounding, she could duck and weave almost as well as if she had wings. Her general fell that day...and it was already in the cards for Mia to take his place. She dropped to her knees beside the dying General, he turned to point out a young stallion standing in the crowd, "Mia.." he said breathing heavily, "...he is your brother.." Mia hardly noticed the general pass, her gaze was fixed on the young stallion ahead of her with wide eyes. He looked back at her just as shocked as she was. It was then that Mia first met Axe, now she would not be without him, he fights well by her side and despite being her brother...he follows orders well. Suna soon became Genreal Mia's second in command, she was often just what Mia needed to keep her spirits up. She began to feel like she belonged for the first time with her family and friends.
Then it came, a battle to end all battles. Mia had her army preparing for months after the threat of their land being taken over by the hideous beasts. Mia knew full well she was out numbered, but she had the skills to over come that minor point. She stood at the head of her army atop a hillside, the opposite filled with the blackness of creatures, waiting to fight. Mia closed her eyes and took in a deep breath of air, the wind blew around her and she knew deep down that all would be doomed if they did not win, but not once did she show her fears to her troops. On her left stood Suna, on her right, Axe, she looked to them both, "Lets end it here.." she whispered, then set of into a charge towards the enemy.....The battle grounds flowed with the blood of the enemy and Mia's troops. Mia stood over the last beast to be slayed and removed her sword. Her pelt reddened with beasts' and her own blood. It was over...only a few of her troops survived, but they had managed to wipe out the race of hideous beasts that bore a constant threat. Mia turned to see Suna and Axe...who had both fought with honor and bravery, although both wounded. She walked towards them, "It's over..." she said dropping her sword and removing her armour, "...let us go on with our lives without the thought of what was...I am tired...lets leave this place as a constant reminder of what will be." With that, Mia summoned her remaining army and released them of their duty, until they were needed once again.
Mia returned to the place she called home, the valley of the crimson trees. There she roamed, in peace at last.
Now and then Mia returns to the place where it all ended, her temperament still regimental and she often comes across cold to others...but she chooses not to express emotion as she has had to conceal them for so long.
Sin
Mia thought it unlikely she would ever love and have that love returned. Her years in regiment made her hard and emotions didnt come easily to her. She spent most of her time alone, wondering enjoying the peace of her land. Then one day she had enough and decided to explore. She driftend through the crimson trees until the colour faded and she found herself in a somewhat gothic looking forest. The trees were bare and haggard, hardly any life left in them. She gazed up at the Harvest Moon for hours it seemed. It was here that a being apprached her, she gazed at him, he was what seemed to be half equine half dragon, a mighty beast that towered above her. Mia for the first time in her life felt weak, she imagined her home land being destroyed once again. She appraoched the stallion, a single tear rolling down her cheek, she stood there motionless, eyeing him. But she could see no evil in this being, in fact she saw alot more. She soon learned his name was Sin, he was certainly unlike any other she had ever met, yet there was something more despite his appearance that intruiged her. She followed him and they spent time together, she learnt about him and he about her...
The more time she was around him, the more she couldnt stand to be away from him, she saw the beauty that lay within him and gradually her love grew for him. Even then she never expected him to feel the same way, he could eat her if he wanted! But eventually it became clear that they were meant to be together.
The day Sin met Axe is one Mia will never forget. Axe had been in a fight of some kind and clearly had come off worse. He lay on the ground with bleeding wounds, barely conscious. Mia cried out for her brother as he lay there praying for him to be ok. Sin helped by moving him to the river. Axe moaned and roared with pain, his wounds created by a demonic force of some kind that had him possessed. He didnt even know who Mia was. She tended his wounds and stayed with him for hours until the posession wore off and he began to heal. Sin stayed by Mia and she apprieciated it. When he came around, Axe was less than willing to accept Sin for what he was, he saw him as a monster, not unsimilar to the one he had fought off earlier, and believed that he had tricked Mia into loving him, a spell of some kind, sorcery. He thought her mad for doing so once she explained. The stallions taunted one another and Sin charged him, had he been of full health Axe would have charged back, but Mia stood before her brother, protecting him. She felt torn, never would she choose between the two. Both stallions threatened to end one another. It resulted in Sin backing down and he left, much to Mia's suprise, but it told her that he must have cared, but she needed to see her brother was safe and well, she couldnt abandon her family. Mia returned home with her brother Axe and became lost, she spent days staring into space in silence. Looking back towards the place she had last seen Sin, craving to see him once again. She sought solitude to be alone with her feelings, trying to make that almighty decision whether she should forget him or not. It hadnt gone unoticed with Axe, he was fully healed and couldnt bare the sorrow that surrounded her. He realised that her love must have been true because it was so unlike her to be this way. "You should go to him.." he told her, knowing if it was what made her happy then so be it, despite the unusual circumstances. Still without Mia's knowledge he would willingly kill Sin if he ever hurt her. Mia fled her home with no intention of looking back, she had to find him, she had to know if these feelings were true.
Finally she found him, back in his forest. She could tell just by looking at him that she had made the right decision and that he took her breath away. She nuzzled his neck and looked into his eyes longingly, deciding then that she wanted to be with him. It was then that the Sundry herd was discovered. Mia and Sin were accepted into it along with many many others. The odd couple were not frowned upon as there were many within the herd and all different. Little did Mia know that Axe had followed, desperate to protect her against this beast she claimed to love. He had studied them together for a while and almost become accustomed to their affection for one another, he had softened a little, but Sin...had not. The stallions argued once again, threats of death were spoken and Mia could not take it any more. "I will not choose!...I would sooner go without ither of you if you make me choose!!" She couldnt take it, the only two stallions that truely meant something to her in life had a hatred for eachother beyond repair. But once again, Sin backed away wishing to not be found this time...
Mia was distraught once again, but angered at the situation. She confided in Suna, begging for answers. Until she was left to her won thoughts on the matter. What would she do? Axe swore to her that he would end Sin should he put a hoof wrong, that he had killed mightier beats in his time and would gladly take his life. Mia didnt want to hear it and decided that to be alone for a while was the best thing to do. She left the herd and returned home, wishing it had all never happened. All she wanted was Sin, she wished her brother safe and well, and to be in her life, but she couldnt live wihtout Sin, he was her world. Her mind was made up, she would return to her love...or else her life would not be worht living at all...
