~Henna
nailpolish is awesome! You can color your nails with henna if you buy
hte right kind! It's environmentally safer than the toxic nailpolishes.
And it's much neater, well sort of there is no nailpolish brush, to put
on. If it smears it won't mess up the your nails(not sure about
furniture & stuff but henna has to dry before it leaves color) or
skin, it comes off faster off the skin if you let it dry. After you
apply the henna paste(shouldn't be too thin or thick if you mix it from
powder) you let it dry than wash it off. Comes out light orange or
pinkish-peach. Depends on the type of henna. For some types if you
leave it longer it will come out red & darker. Or indigo if you use
indigo or mix indigo with henna it will be dark. But if you use a dark henna that turns out black make sure it isn't DDT or the chemicals used in hair. DDT is fatal if it gets on the skin but it's okay on the nails. There are still better options than henna with DDT, like food coloring or indigo. It lasts until the nail outgrows too.
Buffers are said to deflect the henna color but I buffered my nails
today and the henna colors till stayed on. I wanted a french tip that
lasted awhile without constantly using toxic nailpolishes(a lot of
toxic chemicals in nailpolishes)so I used henna for the light color,
unfortunately the henna came out a little too orange but it still
works! Henna is sold as powder or cones(in an Indian store) or
convenience store~
