Bexhill

Bexhill, just a few miles to the west of Hastings, was first recorded in 772 during the reign of King Offa and, during Napoleonic times, was a garrison town for King George III’s legions.  Known as the home of British Motor Racing it held the very first international motor race in 1902.

This town retains some stylish architecture, the Georgian buildings in the old town and its Edwardian properties along the long stretch of seafront. The famous De La Warr Pavilion, built in 1935, is situated towards the west end of the promenade which is always lined with colourful and well tended flower beds.

In this busy seaside town can be found something for everyone, with its many bustling shops, entertainment facilities, a good selection of places to eat at and the many hotels to choose from for your stay. Just a short distance to the east of Bexhill is the Ravenside Shopping Centre with its array of shops, bowling alley and swimming pool. This can also be reached by stretching your legs and taking a walk up over the well known Galley Hill with its wonderful views along the coastline – you will find this really worthwhile
