Yes with its friendly atmosphere and many places of interest the town of Battle is a must when visiting Sussex.
The busy market town of Battle lies approximately seven miles to the north of Hastings and is situated alongside those battlefields on which King Harold was defeated by William the Conqueror at the historic Battle of Hastings in 1066.At the the entrance to these famous fields now stands the beautiful Battle Abbey.
