About seven years ago, I stumbled upon this weird idea that perhaps avoiding prescription drugs would be a good idea. I was getting sick quite frequently and spending around $150 a month on medication! It's not that I rule out pharmaceuticals entirely, or that I would never visit a doctor, I just feel there are something's we can do to prevent bad things from happening and, there are things we can do that can cure without spending so much money on drugs.
Of course, I cannot make any guarantees that what is suggested below will cure you or help you. Everyone is very different in how they respond to treatment. I can tell you that I will try and stick with things that have helped me personally and, if they are things I've only heard about, then I will advise you of that.
Here is a list of some natural cures as well as ways to help prevent you from becoming ill. I hope this helps and I will continue to add more and more as the site grows.
ASTHMA- It's sort of a bizarre thing to do but, I did find this tip while browsing the Internet and it actually works! It's not my idea, I can't take credit but, I will explain this the best way I can. PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!! You can only do this method if you have a nebulizer. First you purchase hydrogen peroxide. This is just the regular 3% that you find at the drugstore for under a dollar usually. You simply pour a small amount into the reservoir where you would put the saline solution in and then, proceed as normal. Turn the machine on for a few seconds, then inhale slowly and deeply. You should take about 2-3 puffs and do this around 3 times daily. Keep record of everything you are doing by documenting it. If you don't feel a major improvement in about 2 weeks, I would stop. For me, I noticed a big difference around the 6th or 7th day. It really worked for me and I hope it'll work for you too! HAIR, SKIN, AND NAILS- If you have trouble growing your hair, your nails split, or your skin isn't doing, "Oh so well," then you need to try Silicon! I swear by this. It will help you in so many ways. It's a miracle element. COLD & FLU- Anytime I feel a cold coming on, or the flu, I increase my intake of vitamin C. There is no limit to how much you can take since, it's water soluble. If you are taking supplements, the best ones are those you chew, or the Vitamin C tabs that look like hard pieces of candy. I then add to that by taking garlic. Garlic really works and it should be taken at the first sign or illness. Fresh garlic is the best but, the tablets are okay too, in my opinion. CANDIDA CLEANSE- You probably already know that candida is a yeast overgrowth in your body. It can cause all sorts of problems ranging from nausea, allergies, asthma, gas bloating, indigestion, heartburn, acne, bad breath, fatigue, depression, and yeast infections. There are several cleanses available on the market and some can reach upwards of $300! I have done these cleanses and I love them. I think they work wonderfully but, go with the less expensive ones. The only difference is convenience and taste. The more expensive ones are usually in a pill form and are easy to take. The less expensive ones usually need to be mixed with water and taste terrible. So, just hold your nose because, you can't taste anything in this product without smell. That's why I buy the ones that cost $30, and if you're near a health store, they frequently have sales. There are some that do claim to be alot better than others. I've only done a few myself so, I can't recommend anything specific but, they all pretty much work the same. A real cleanse costs about $30 and lasts for about 2 weeks. I think they have wonderful benefits, more energy, loss of weight, less bloating or gas, skin acne clears up, ect. This is highly recommended. OIL PULLING- This is said to help a whole host of problems. The list includes allergies, asthma, high blood sugar, migraine headaches, insomnia, cancer, AIDS, infections, high blood pressure, diabetes, menopause, kidney and heart diseases, ect. Here's what you do...It seems as though you can use almost any type of oil but, sesame or sunflower oils are what is recommended. You should probably do this first thing in the morning, definately on an empty stomach. Then take a few teaspoons of oil and swish it in your mouth for about 15 minutes, at least 10. The longer, the better. The oil should become white and foamy. You want to make sure this gets all around your mouth, especially in the back areas so, tilt your head and swish around. Spit this out into the sink or toliet. Do NOT swallow. Follow up by rinsing and drinking a few glasses of water. I should also note that this helps cleanse heavy metals out of your system as well so, because of this, you need to use discretion if you have alot of dental work. It is possible but, not likely (unless your fillings are lose already), that your fillings will fall out. ACID REFLUX- This is really common. It seems like almost everyone has this issue. The big natural cure that many people sware by is Apple Cider Vinegar. Take a teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinagar, instead of that other drug your doctor put you on, in the morning and one at night. You should feel results immediately.

Well, one undeniable fact that this country faces is rising health care costs. It doesn't quite matter what social class you come from, this is most certainly effecting everyone.
Living in the United States, we are still quite fortunate. Compared to world standards, America has continued to show it's superiority in health care. They do realize this is the same government that can't even figure out how to make the wait at the DMV shorter, the same government that can't figure out where the heck they spent your tax money, the same government that makes people pay for projects over and over again, and nothing ever gets done, and the same government that continues to ask for more money for schools, yet somehow they need a "no left behind" program because the standards have dropped down so low, half the children can't even read when they graduate!? Yeah, somehow, I don't think bringing the government in is going to "help" anything. As history proves, doing that only makes things worse.
The truth is most Americans, through all our whining lately, know that the only way to handle this problem is to roll up our sleeves and tale our own action towards solving the problem. We take responsibility and we do whatever we need to take care of ourselves. We do whatever it takes. We expect the best because, we are the best!
I think this is why many are turning to alternative medicines and homeopathy. Most of us realize that we really do have to take care of our bodies by eating right, and exercising, and getting plenty of rest. Natural cures are definitely better than taking pills that cost hundreds of dollars, especially when they are shown to work just as well.
