New Jersey Shore Nationals
5th Annual NHSCA Jersey Shore National Duals
There were 33 teams (23 from NJ, 4 PA, 2 Mass, 2 NY, 1 VA, 1 FL) Team Impact opened its pool play on Saturday with Group 2 State Champs ranked 2nd overall in NJ Long Branch (26-0).  We also wrestled them 2 years ago.  Impact lost 34-13 head to head this year.  Some of those matches can be seen on Flowrestling.  We then beat Puteric Pa 25-18.  Our last pool match with a win could have entered us in the championship bracket on Sunday.  We lost to St. Augustine Prep NJ (19-5).  Not sure of the score since Coach Goodbody kept results.
Finishing third in our pool we then wrestled Sunday another pool 3rd in Roselle Park NJ who were Group 1 sectional Champs (20-2).  We won the head to head bouts 25-20.  We did not have the last three weights giving up 9 points each dual match.  After this match we wrestled Team Cole NJ and beat them.  Overall we went 3-2.  I was very pleased and impressed with the way we wrestled.  The team showed they could compete with anyone.  The wrestlers displayed heart and focus.  We were the best conditioned out of all the teams we wrestled.  Our best team performance was against Roselle Park.
Individual results will be posted on the Impact Website shortly.

Over 40 Teams from 12 Different States!
One of, if not THE most, competitive off-season High School dual tournaments in the country.

The 2007 Impact Wrestling Team Overall Record 6-2

On the first day of pool play Impact beat the competition 161-75 earning a 4-0 record.  Impact entered the large school bracket ready to win and win they did!  The team left off where they started winning their next 2 matches.  Impact defeated a tough #3 seed Howell to advance to the semi's.  We ran into a buzz-saw with the SIR wrestling team out of NJ.
I was extremely impressed with these young wrestlers as they came together as a TEAM and battled every single match!  Keep up that winning attitude and next year lets make the finals and win...win...win!

The 2006 Impact Wrestling Team

participated in the Jersey Shore National Dual Team Tournament at Monmouth University August 5th and 6th.

We finshed 3-4 overall! We can and will do better next year.  We have kids and coaches who are committed to improve their performance.  We’re already working toward 2007!

Impact beat Bayshore Select NJ in the last match

All of the wrestlers did their best facing tough competition match after match.  This will help prepare them for the upcoming season and the battles which they will encounter.

Impact was created March 2005.  In its short time, the hard work has paid off dividends for the wrestlers.

IMPACT finishes NJ National Duals 4-3
Josh Dix goes a perfect 5-0 and does so in impressive fashion

98 lbs Jordan Dix 5-2 (2 pins)
105 lbs Schuyler Brown 2-5 (1 pin)
113 lbs Jared Anongos 4-2 (3 pins), Patrick Nowaczyk 4-2 (2 pins)
119 lbs Sean Katz 5-1 (2 pins)

135 lbs Josh Dix 5-0 (2 pins), Brian Grimes 4-1 (2 pins)

160 lbs Steven Fish 1-6 (1 pin)
171 lbs Charles Robinson 5-2 (1 pin)
185 lbs Easton Scarbrough 5-2 (had 18 takedowns)

These wrestlers scored the first takedown in the first period  9/13 (.692) in the first match, 9/12 (.750) in the second, 8/10 (.800) in the third, TBA in the fourth, 5/8 (.625) in the fifth, 6/10 (.600) in the sixth and 6/12 (.500) in the seventh match.  We were successful due to the work the team does on our feet.  First takedowns mean IMPACT is at an advantage.  I am extremely proud of the way the wrestlers carried themselves.  MOST IMPRESSIVE - As a team in 91 matches, we gave up only 9 pins and 4 occured in the last match.

IMPACT wrestlers have learned that sometimes you have to lose in order to win!!!!
