General Info
The Rottweiler makes a loyal and wonderful companion, but requires time and training. The Rottweiler is a basically calm, confident, and courageous dog with self-assuredness.
Rottweilers are powerful dogs with an inherent desire to protect home and family. The Rottweiler's strong will to work makes it an especially good companion dog.
Rottweilers have history of Hip Problems Here are Some Ways To Prevent them:
If you are planning to Breed your Rottweiler they should not be Bred until they are at least 2 years of age.
Are you planning to get a Rottweiler Puppy? Before you buy from a breeder ALWAYS make sure they are reputable breeders, in good standing with the AKC, and Check out their breeding area to make sure the dogs are not in bad conditions or are being bred from a Puppy Mill. If so, Turn them in to Local Law Enforcement Even if you aren't totally sure. (E-mail me for Breeder Reccomdations in your area) See bottom of page for e-mail address
Check the Ingredients in your Puppy Food and make sure there is little or no Calcium. Too much Calcium will cause their bones to grow faster and can cause Hip Problems.

The ideal Rottweiler is a medium large, robust and powerful dog, black with clearly defined rust markings. The compact and substantial build denotes great strength, agility and endurance. Dogs are characteristically more massive throughout with larger frame and heavier bone than bitches. Bitches are distinctly feminine, but without weakness of substance or structure.
The first Rottweiler was admitted to the American Kennel Club Stud Book in 1931.
Temperaments
Many of you have e-mailed me about Rottweilers temperaments so I have added this section for you guys! I will add more later!
Rottweiler temperaments vary from natural clowns, who are affectionate to almost anyone, to the very reserved, one-person dog. Ideally they are calm but alert companions. These dogs often follow their masters from place to place in the home, keeping a constant but unobtrusive watch over their loved one.
