What a Beautiful Night for ILLINOIS MSA Racing at Shepps Speedway

Hot Shoe Austin Archdale of Brimfield IL continued his winning ways on Sunday night by taking his 2nd straight win by taking the checkers in the 15 lap feature event at Shepps Speedway on Sunday night.
Archdale who won a week at the Wilmot Wi. Raceway and clinched the IMSA inagural series point championship in Illinois  put his Tom Brown Racing/Renegade Chassis to the front at the drop of the green and lead all 15 laps.  The battle was for the number 2 spot with Tad Roach of Pontoon Beach IL taking the 2nd spot with Shane Morgan of Creve Ceour iL and Will Archdale of Peoria Hgts IL in tow. A caution on lap 5 for the spinning car of Pekin's Chaz Gregory bunched the field once again.  Austin would jump out to the lead again with Tad and Shane in a hard fought battle for the runner up spot.  On lap 8 Brent Burrows of Lewistown IL would bring out another caution for a spin in turn 4.  Once again Austin would take command up front with Tad and Shane battling for the 2nd spot.  Shane would get a run on the 2nd spot when another caution on lap 11 for Burrows in turn 4.  At the restart Austin would stay up front and Morgan would use the high side of turn 1 on lap 12 to move into 2nd spot.  Tad and Will would battle for 3rd spot with Tad taking 3rd and Will 4th.

We all had a great time at Shepps and the fans loved to see our cars race. The officilas of Shepps were exceptionally polite and treated us very good from the people at the sign in booth to the track officials. We are looking forward to getting another race at the fine 1/4 mi track.

The New Illinois Mini Sprint Association

for upright 1000cc,1200cc and upright 600cc race cars will make their debut on Friday Night April 10 at the Morgan County Speedway in Jacksonville IL.

The new series has drawn some new faces and new cars to the 17 race inagural season. The new series will visit 5 central IL Speedways in 2009.The only cars that will be able to race this series are upright race cars with the wings just like the big brothers the 410 sprint cars.

Series President Roger Sollenberger who was co-founder and later resigned of the MAOSS group which has disbaned,  formed the new series when a lot of the drivers were in contact to try and get some races close to the immediate Peoria area.

The series was put together after a meetinbg in Dec in Pekin IL when about 12 drivers showed up and discussed the new venture. Drivers from the St Louis area showed up and indicated there is about 6 cars from that area who would come back and race this new series.

With the new cars and some of the cars from the WI. area have showed interest in some of the races this could push some of the shows to 14 to 16 cars.
The rules for the series will be posted soon .
The new series address is :
