Crash Course in Basic Drawing

Many people grow up with the conviction that they cannot draw, that they are not artistic. For many this becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy that is never challenged. I offer this course to those of you who want to challenge this myth.

Drawing is a learnable, teachable skill.

Unless you demonstrated special talent, the chances are that you attended your last art lesson at the age of twelve. Immagine if we treated other subjects in this manner. Sorry you do not show special talent in Mathematics so we’re cutting off your Mathematics lessons. The truth is that learning to draw is the best way to sharpen your ability to see and create. Drawing is a process of discovery.

Learning to draw is more than learning the skill itself. In learning how to draw you will learn how to see. During the course you will learn how to process visual information in the special way used by artists.

The course consists of eight three hour sessions based on techniques developed by Betty Edwards in her book “Drawing on the Right side of the Brain”.
