Ten host churches and support churches provide overnight lodging, meals and hospitality for up to five families or 14 people in a rotation schedule. Volunteers provide meals, fellowship and overnight supervision for the Shawnee Interfaith Hospitality guests. The average congregation has thirty to fifty volunteers. Volunteers help transport guests to and from the day center to medical appointments, job hunting,, housing expeditions and provided coverage at the Day Center as needed. During the host week, other congregations may provide additional volunteers to support the host group-making breakfast and suppers, playing with children or helping children with their homework.
