New to the IGNITE Family: Baraka Joseph Thoya
The Cornerstone Church is joining with WorldVision in an effort to help the community of Marafa in Kenya, Africa. Part of helping this community is shown through child sponsorship - as a church, we have sponsored 88 children in the last 3 weeks!
I'm excited to announce that IGNITE is joining in the effort
and sponsoring a young boy named Baraka Joseph!
Baraka was born on June 28, 2002 and lives with his parents and 3 sisters. He helps out around the house by carrying water and enjoys skipping rope. Baraka lives in a community that is severely affected by HIV and AIDS. Our sponsorship will go through WorldVision to help meet Baraka's needs as well as those of his community.
On the 2nd Wednesday of every month, the dinner donations will go towards our sponsorship of Baraka Joseph Thoya.
Students - you will also have a chance to write to Baraka at the beginning of the meeting! It is an exciting thing for children to hear from their sponsors, so imagine his surprise when he finds out there is a whole group of us, haha. :) If you would like more information about Baraka or sponsoring a WorldVision child, call the Church Office at 815.933.3890 or e-mail Corinne@thecornerstone.org. Basically...Food, Fun & Fellowship as we sort through what God's plan is for our lives and what it means to let Him ignite a passion in our hearts. We are excited to help Jr. High students discover ways to "Fan the Flame" of their faith in everyday life as well as develop relationships with mentors and fellow students.
