At I Dream Of Burmese, our kittens leave us to go to there new homes at 10 to 14 weeks of age. As our kittens have been lovingly raised in the family home with children from birth, our kittens would much prefer the safety and comfort of the home where they will be included as a member of the family.
To ensure peace of mind to all parties, contracts are used with all sales.
All kittens leave us with age appropriate worming, vaccinations, microchipping, pedigree and registration, kitty-litter trained and vet checked.
They are sold in the catagories of “breeding”, “show/breeding”, “neutered show” and occassionally as “pets”.
Some people feel that it is the right of the kitten/cat to have the freedom to go outside and experience what the world has to offer. We at I Dream Of Burmese do not believe a cat wants the right to be hit by a car, stolen from its home or possibly attacked by a dog or a possum. There are many dangers outside the home for a small kitten or cat, such as poisonous plants, chemicals sprayed on plants, lawns, fences and buildings all of which may be absorbed through the skin or ingested. An outside kitten/cat also risks being involved in fights with either cats or possums that may result in an abscess or even worse, feline aids. An outside feline also risks coming into contact with many feline diseases which can in some cases be fatal or at a minimum provide a lifetime of suffering.
All kittens purchased as pets are sold on the strict understanding that they are indoor companion kittens/cats and will only be allowed to go outside the house to a safe and permanent outdoor play area specifically designed for cats where they can bask in the sun and play with moths and butterflies.
