Twins Retired Jersey Auto's |
This is the program from the game in which the Minnesota Twins retired the jersey number (14) of Kent Hrbek. My brother & I scored some great seats & a couple innings into the game we noticed Tony Oliva, whose jersey number (6) is also retired by the Twins, sitting a couple rows away from us. Remember this is 1995 & attendence at Twins games wasn't the greatest. So about the 5th inning we decide to go over & ask Mr. Oliva for his auto & that's where this began. I put it in a frame when I got home & hung it in my room where it stayed for a few years. Then when I moved it got packed away & sat in a box for a a few years. Moving into a new house that had an extra room I decided to turn that into a home office. First thing I did was unpack my autographs & other memorabilia to adorn my walls & found this. Since then my goal has been to finish it off with the other 3 signatures & I finally had the opportunity. Jan. 23-25, 2004, the Twins held their annual "TwinsFest" which is a card show/autograph party & just my luck Rod Carew, who has been a notoriously tough autograph to get, was doing his first public signing in Minnesota in 25 years! I spent a total of seven hours standing in lines to get Rod Carew (#29), Harmon Killebrew (#3) & Kent Hrbek (#14) this weekend, but it was well worth it!! |
