My first love is birds! Having been owned by pet birds since age 5, I feel my life has been blessed by their complex and gentle uplifting spirits. I managed an exotic bird store after retiring from ICU nursing a few years back and it was the best job I had. Unfortunately the owner fell ill and had to close the shop. I learned a multitude of things from the experience, most important of which is how vital to ones' pet birds it is to have quality food, toys and environment for the best experience. Being prepared and well educated on the type of bird one is interested in is also extremely important prior to a purchase or adoption. Do not go gently into that good-night!
