2007- Silver Anniversary Conference

The mother of all childbirth conferences came to Syracuse, April 20-22, 2007.  Dr. Mark Landon, primary author of the first large-scale American prospective study on vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC), was one of seven keynote speakers.  His findings confirm the relative safety of VBAC for most women.  Other keynote speakers included Marsden Wagner, Henci Goer, & Nancy Wainer, along with many other fabulous speakers & sessions.

2005- Reclaiming Our Choices in Childbirth

In 2005, ICAN held a joint conference with the California Association of Midwives & the Birth Resource Network  in San Diego.  This Conference provided a unifying message for the birth community and childbearing women at a time when over 300 hospitals & two medical malpractice companies ban VBAC despite research showing VBAC is safer than repeat cesarean for most women and babies.  The press release for this can be found archived at PRWeb.
