Gunnlaugur Jónsson was appointed coach of ÍA in October 2013 replacing Þorvaldur Örlygsson.
Gulli was a defender for ÍA, making his league debut against Breiðablik in September 1994. He had spells with Motherwell in Scotland, Orebro SK in Sweden, Kongsvinger IL in Norway and German club Bayer Uerdingen. He left Akranes in 2006 for KR then moved onto Selfoss in 2009.
He started his coaching career at Selfoss, he then moved onto Valur, KA and HK.
Jón Þór Hauksson is the assistant coach. Guðmundur Hreiðarsson is the goalkeeping coach.
