Hi Michael, I hope you've enjoyed your holidays. The latest results were somehow disappointing.Let's hope for the miracle ( but they don't happen very offen). Went to see my team (Borussia Dortmund) winning in Wolfsburg last weekend. So there are some good news footballwise.Pia

Does anybody know what's going wrong at the moment? Please let me know....

Was big changes during the winter Pia. First choice goalkeeper Árni Snær Ólafsson was injured before Christmas and hasn't played since (I hear he may play next game). Captain and defender Ármann Smári Björnsson retired after injury. Another defender Darren Lough returned to the UK. Last years top scorer Garðar Gunnlaugsson has been injured too. It is tight at bottom of league but a little run of a few wins and its mid table

That's definitely true. I was so surprised when I saw the town again 2 years ago after not having been there for nearly 40 years. Although I must admit that it looks much nicer these days...

Brilliant, hope you enjoyed your visit. The town of Akranes will have changed a lot since your time with Klaus :-)

Hi, I've just found your site yesterday and I'm really happy about it.
I used to work for one season together with the German manager Klaus Hilpert in Akranes. Went there again 2 weeks ago and had many happy memories coming back while walking on the pitch.
Greetings from Germany

Please email me if you can find any young men willing to talk about their childhood playing experiences.

Hello IA Akranes,
I am a 43 year old american father and coach of 2 kids that play a lot of soccer. I've actually coached a variety of youth sports the last 10 years because i have the heart of a child. I grew up playing american football and soccer, but my dad had never touched a soccer ball until i played and it was a completely new sport where I grew up. Thus I played like a idiot...but I was very fast and I truly loved to run a lot.

In any case I was doing research on the growth of american soccer. I discovered that your town and club creates high level soccer players at a truly amazing rate compared to anything else in the world. I would love to learn more. I'd love to learn how you get 2 and 3 year old enjoying playing. I know for a fact that if a little kid does not LOVE to play that they will never truly be a great player. Is there anyone who would be willing to talk to me about their experiences growing up playing in your club?
