About me

I am 35 years old and live in Birkenhead, England my local club is Tranmere Rovers FC. I am married with a young son and work as an electrician.

I have followed Icelandic football for the last 18 years, I take an interest in all aspects of the game: league, cup, european, national team.

I started to start to take more of an interest in IA after a feature on TV show Futbol Mundial in 1997 when they visited Akranes for a game against Skallagrimur (IA won 6-0), I started this website in 2003.

Visit to Akranes

I made my first visit to Akranes in May 2007 for the opening game of the season IA - FH as a guest of the club. I was made very welcome in Akranes by Chairman Gisli Gislason, Press Officer Sigthor Eiriksson and my friend Hjalmur Geir Hjalmsson (who was my guide for the weekend, he picked me up from the airport and took me back, he gave me a tour of Akranes, he took me to Reykjavik to watch Valur - Fram at Laugardalsvollur and more.......)

I was shown around the Sports Museum and Sports Hall where I met many former players Rikhardur Jonsson, Jon Gunnlaugsson, Haraldur Sturlaugsson, Helgi Danielsson, Logi Olafsson.............

I returned to Iceland in September 2007 to watch IA - Vikingur, this time I stayed in Reykjavik where I also went to watch Throttur - IBV and the Womens Cup Final, KR - Keflavik.

I have had many souvenirs from Akranes sent to me over the last few years : flags, signed shirt, videos, programmes etc.....

I have watched the Iceland national team against England and Japan (2004) and Trinidad and Tobago (2006).
