Hello fellow history enthusiasts,

My name is Ian and I'm a recent graduate in the field of history from Lancaster University. I have always been passionate about the history of just about everything. Although my main interest is the medieval period and the history of the crusades, I maintain an interest in a wide range of historical topics ranging from the history of ancient China to the Second World War and beyond. This site is primarily a general interest website for casual use with many of the entries being merely general commentaries on chronological events and should not be used academically without close scrutiny and caution. However, there are some detailed essays which I have compiled for past projects which are properly referenced and credible pieces of work. I would suggest that only the articles with cited footnotes or references should be quoted for academic work. If you require a general background introduction for a topic then you will find here an outline of a certain period of history or a key person. To add to this I am also compiling a reading list of useful academic books and articles relating to the topics covered on this site.

I would like to make clear that this website is NOT an essay bank from which essays may be lifted and handed in for school projects in their entirety. If you do this you are only cheating yourself and your grade will suffer.
