***Special Note***** If you have questions for me, or have not heard from me and need to, please contact me at syryne@comcast.net As it turns out, many people have changed e-mails without informing me, others are getting sent back to me by your servers marked to me as spam or non-deliverable. I am happy to work around this one on one as I have with others in our group. Please feel free to contact me. I am sorry for any troubles this may have caused.

Welcome Individual Augmentee Families!

Hello everyone, Please do not be confussed by the 18 to 15 portion. That was my original title, however, I have taken on many of the individual augmentees from accross the nation, that are NOT from NMCB 18. This site is for ALL Individual Augmentees to NMCB15.

I am Joni Akins. Wife of SWC (SCW) Terry Akins DPOS. I am your Ombudsman. Some of you may recognize me as the Ombudsman from NMCB 1418 Portland. I now also help Gary and you with this deployment in any way that is needed. I wanted to help make the transition easier by keeping the site as familiar as possible. I will also include a link to the NMCB 18 site for you, though it may not be updated as often as it was during our last deployment, the links are still good links. The pictures and slide shows are still fantastic!

I would like to invite both you and family members to email me photos and slide shows to post on this site. Please note that by sending me photos you agree in advance to have them posted on the site and or added to slide shows. If you want to send photos, but do not want them in the website or on in slide shows to be posted on the site, let me know IN the e-mail when you send the photo to me. That will help to eliminate confusion. During the deployment for NMCB 18 we had a lot of photo sharing and some great slide shows came of it. The families all had a sense of community from them and found it nice to see how everyone was doing, not just their Seabee. I would really love it too as time goes on, if you that are deployed send me some notes on what you would like in care packages because there are already schools and businesses lined up to send you things. Better to get what you might need or want than things to clutter up the base if you have the opportunity. There are many people here at home (USA) that are right behind you offering their support for you and your endeavors.

For those of you who do not know what an Ombudsman is or what we can do for you, we are your heart line to and from Command. If you are having emergency problems at home and need to get information to your Seabee and for some reason cannot get through, I can do that for you. Command will be sending "Family grams" from the group to you back home, you will get those from me, and they will be linked to the main NMCB 15 home page. If you need help that can be done by an "at home" member of your individual reserve centers, I can help make contact with that reserve center. If you are deployed and need to contact home, but seem to not get through, I can try to help with that as well. No problem is too big or too small and I emphasize that to the enth degree because I have contacts all over of people who are willing to help. I have a large database of places, people and inter military services in which to point you for what ever your situation may call for.

And so I welcome you to this new family of NMCB 15. I offer my understanding and my support. I am available by cell or by e-mail syryne@comcast.net please email me to get my cell number, tell me who you are, and let's be sure I have every ones emergency and non-emergency contact information updated and ready to go. (Please update with me if it is to change. It keeps the flow of things much easier and faster.)

Welcome!

Joni Akins
